    Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC):Workshops and individual consultations on resume writing, federal and civilian employment,interviewing skills, area job fairs/listings, access to FFSC Career Centers, and ERB-specific

    information. FFSC also offers an array of programs, including clinical and financialcounseling. Sailors and their families are eligible for FFSC support for 180 days post-separation. For spouses interested in employment, Fleet, Family & Child Programs (FFCP)Career Guidance & Placement Managers (CG&PMs) can provide some employmentplacement possibilities for families in San Diego. S2W ishosting job fair events as a traveling road show, including one in San Diego on 9 FEB 2012at the Naval Operations Support Center (NOSC) San Diego, 9955 Pomerado Rd, Bldg 20300,San Diego, CA (near MCAS Miramar). Attendees can meet with representative fromCommander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC), Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR), NavalFacilities (NAVFAC), Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA), Naval Supply (NAVSUP), Office of CivilianHuman Resources, and Space & Warfare (SPAWAR) to receive information about careeropportunities and receive assistance with applications/resumes for open positions.     Enlisted Retention Board (ERB)What Next? Seminar for Sailors & Spouses:Attend this two-day seminar, sponsored by FFSC, for ten modules of information on findingemployment, benefits, managing stress, educational and employment programs, and aresource fair opportunity at the end of the first day to network with agencies, employers,and schools that want to help you. Sessions will be archived for virtual access through theinternet before 1/31/12. CDs are available by mail for deployed Sailors who cannot accessonline videos. This seminar does not replace TAP. Remaining dates in 2012 are 2/21-2/22,3/26-3/27, 5/21-5/22 or 6/18-6/19 at Anchors Catering & Conference Center (Naval BaseSan Diego). The first day runs from 0730-1630, with a resource fair from 1630-1800. Thesecond day is 0730-1630. Spouses of Sailors affected by ERB are also welcome to attend, aswell as Sailors and spouses affected by Perform to Serve (PTS).     Employment Placement & Personalized Career Coaching:Through a contract with the Navy, Challenger, Gray and Christmas (CGC) will provide FREEpersonalized career coaching and job search assistance to Sailors affected by ERB. CGC willstart contacting each Sailor via an introductory email on 12/23/11 with a list of the freeservices available. Services will officially start on 1/3/12. After 1/3/12, Sailors can contactCGC directly to begin using services immediately, so dont wait! Services includepersonalized career coaching, job search assistance, and a full career assessment in whicheach Sailors skills, abilities, talents and work history will be used to create a customizedcareer transition program. CGCs professional staff will write and complete each Sailorsresume, targeted for todays marketplace. Each Sailor will be guided in the preparation ofcover letters and other correspondence. Subject matter experts will translate Navy ratings to

    civilian workforce jobs. Each Sailor will be assigned a job search coach to proactively workwith them throughout the job search process, and Sailors will have unlimited 24/7 access totheir coach to include proactive and reactive counseling sessions. Each Sailor will workone-on-one with their job search coach to develop a job search marketing plan and personaldevelopmental plan customized to their backgrounds, achievements, and goals. The coachwill work individually with each Sailor in role-playing for job interviews and how to bestanswer questions in the interview process. Each Sailor will receive a contact list and a plan

    for networking, both in person and through electronic social media tools. CGC hasconducted outreach to employers specifically looking for transitioning Sailors, and will behosting exclusive career open houses/job fairs for those separating under ERB. CGC willprovide Sailors with access to an online job search center that provides market and companyresearch, job board links/job banks, webinars, social networking training and opportunities,online assessments, information databases and e-learning tools. CGC will provide careercenters, including access to computers, scheduled workspace, telephones, copiers and otherIT support in certain fleet-concentrated areas around the world. CGC will provide extensivesupport for those desiring to start a business or pursue any entrepreneurial activity.Retirement and lifestyle support will be available for those choosing alternative directions.Spouses are invited to attend the initial CGC consultation with the Sailor. After 1/3/12,Sailors can contact CGC by email at [email protected] call (800) 971-4288

    to set up their first session.

    Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Classes:Sailors affected by ERB must attend TAP. Spouses encouraged to attend, as well. Call forinformation on childcare. If you prefer to attend with others affected by ERB or cannotattend regularly scheduled TAP sessions, on-demand/condensed sessions are available inSan Diego.     NEW - FFSC ERB Transition Support Group: This ongoing support group is available fora safe and confidential place for you to vent, learn helpful ways to address and reducestress, and connect with others experiencing the same transition process. FFSC counseling

    staff host an ERB Transition Support Group for Sailors and spouses at three different SanDiego locations on four days of the week. On Tuesdays, the group runs at FFSC Naval BaseSan Diego from 1100-1200 for service members. Spouses and service members could alsoattend one of the groups on Wednesdays (from 1330-1430 at Murphy Canyon Chapel),

    Thursdays (from 1500-1600 at FFSC Naval Base Coronado from 1500-1600), or Fridays (from1400-1500 at FFSC Naval Base San Diego, Bldg 261). Groups are for adults only. Call (866)923-6478 to reserve a space in group. Walk-ins are welcome! Groups start 1/23/12.

    What Else? Sailors separating under ERB may be authorized transition Permissive Temporary Duty

    (PDTY) for combined job/house hunting up to 10 days and a 60-day transition period, withcommand approval and according to joint federal travel guidelines. Other benefits includeinvoluntary separation pay, ID card for extended Commissary and Exchange benefits for

    two years, state-regulated unemployment benefits, and transitional TRICARE for 180 daysafter separation. After 180 days, Sailors can pay for optional premium-based medicalcoverage for 18 additional months via the Continued Health Care Benefit Program(CHCBP). Find out more at www.tricare.mil.

    ERB affected Sailors are eligible to continue using drop-in Navy childcare benefits for 90days after separation.

    Waivers will be granted to ERB Sailors with less than one year remaining on active duty toaccess Navy Credentialing Opportunities Online (COOL) Program COOL.
