Overall

ERAS Account Maintenance (EAM) Registration – For this recruitment season, program users will be able to log in with their AAMC credentials to EAM. Upon navigating to EAM, users will be presented the option to sign into EAM with their AAMC account. Programs will be able to toggle between programs they have access to, and institution users will have access to all programs within their institution.

Added New Field “Tracks Considered by Program” to Applicant Summary Report – Tracks Selected by Program was added to the Application Details report and similar data was added to the Applicant Summary report. Including this data in the Applicant Summary report gives program users insight into which tracks they are considering an applicant.

“Tracks” section and “Tracks Considered by Program” sub-section to the Applicant Summary report.

COMLEX-USA & USMLE Exam Transcript Information –

Sent on behalf of the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) program (co-sponsored by NBME and the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB)):

You can find more transcript information about USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) and USMLE Step 1 below.

Last recruitment season, all USMLE transcripts included a note about the suspension of the Step 2 CS examination. That note has been updated to reflect its discontinuation and is included below for you to easily reference:

The USMLE Step 2 CS examination was last administered March 16, 2020. Examinees with a failing outcome may not have had an opportunity to retest. The USMLE defines successful completion of its examination sequence as passing Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3.

Beginning January 2022, the PDWS will display USMLE Step 1 numeric scores and/or non-numeric (pass/fail) outcomes. Applicants who test on or after January 26, 2022, will have pass/fail outcomes only. We are working on resource materials to help you navigate the change in the ERAS systems and we will make those materials available to you before the Step 1 score reporting change takes effect.

For more information regarding USMLE Step 2 CS or Step 1, please contact the NBME at (215) 590-9700 or [email protected].

Sent on behalf of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME):

The COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE examination was last administered on March 6, 2020. Some candidates who previously failed this examination may not have had the opportunity to retake the examination. Beginning with the Class of 2020 in the absence of the COMLEX-USA Level-2 PE, the NBOME now requires documentation from the College of Osteopathic Medicine Dean that demonstrates students have the fundamental osteopathic clinical skills necessary to graduate. This will allow students to complete the COMLEX-USA series. For more information regarding COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE, please contact NBOME at (773) 714-0622 (Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. ET) or [email protected].

Scheduler Modernization – This season ERAS users will begin to experience the AAMC’s multi-year technology modernization effort with a new look and feel to our interview scheduler. This effort will enable us to implement new technologies and infrastructure as well as new ways of working to align with market trends; and enhance critical competencies to support AAMC services in an increasingly changing and competitive environment. We are rolling out new features focused on improving the user experience and we are addressing many of the requests we have received from the ERAS community.

Despite the updated look and feel, the actual functionality of our applications will remain the same as prior seasons.
