WRITE YOUR STORY

YOUR FUTURESalvos Discipleship School resounds with powerful stories of students, past and present, who are changing the world for Jesus. Graduates from the School have gone into full-time ministry, missionary work or are fruitful partners in the gospel at their churches and work places. Some have pursued their academic dreams by enrolling for further study.

Sandy Reid, student of the 2015 Furnance program left school at 16 with a personal opinion that her academic ability was low. As her desire to know more about Jesus grew, she decided to go back to school and was accepted as the first mature aged day student at the Salvos Discipleship School.

“At first I struggled with my assessments, I had never written one and was not at all confident particularly when the course involved delving into my own heart revealing areas in my life that hurt and needed healing and attention,” said Sandy. “God assured me the whole time to ‘Be still, and know that I am God’.”

“By the love of God and with the help and support of staff I was nurtured through the entirety of the course learning how to write an essay, how to minister to others and how to prepare and give a speech and a sermon.”

“My opinion of myself now depends on who God has created me to be rather than who I think I am.”
