EquipmentThe camera(s) I will be using is a Panasonic HDC-SD9 which offers quality video, and also a Lumix HD video, since the Cannon will be used on a time share, so I may not be able to use it at all times. The Lumix HD, though perhaps slightly less quality film, offers simple shooting, so if I wanted to do handheld shots for stop motion/video, the Lumix would cater for that.

To allow for quality shots, I need a tripod to film a majority of my video.

A majority of my video is outside at the beach, so although there will be a majority of natural lighting, in order to illuminate my artist and enhance the quality of my video, I need a light reflector. For outside film, I will use an aluminium foil reflector which I will make myself by covering cardboard with foil. This will prevent unwanted glares or shades on my video, especially useful for close up shots of the artist.

PropsAlthough the artists won’t perform his song live and will lip-sync, I want the artist to have a guitar in the performance shots of the video to make it authentic. The artist wrote the guitar-rift and lyrics for the song, so it seems important to have the guitar feature in the video. His own Martin guitar will be the feature guitar.

The car (My own) is an important prop in the video, as a lot of the narrative shots are filmed inside or filming the car the itself. In terms of risk assessment it’s my own car which I’m fully licensed and insured to drive, nobody else will drive the car, and I will only drive in legal areas.

Cast listTo keep my video simple I am only featuring two people in my video; the artist and ‘the girl’ the artist has lost. Because my video is heavily inspired by the ‘Like Crazy’ trailer, I wanted to make my own video simple, but aesthetically beautiful and emotional. I will feature myself in the video, since me and the artist are an actual couple, it means the video won’t look fake, awkward, or posed. Featuring myself as ‘The girl’ also means I don’t have to worry about reliability and continuity because I’m using myself so can control the consistency. In shots where I feature, I won’t be able to film it myself (Except certain handhold shots supposed to replicate self-made home videos) but I will set the shots up and edit the footage completely independently.

LOCATION LISTAs stated in my mood board for my video, the primary location for my video will be Swanage beach, focusing on the pier but also with shots along the beach. Other locations will include the inside of my car, and also house shots. Swanage beach is an open beach, and I will not need permission to film there unless filming people other than my consented artist. I will not need permission to film in my own car or own house.
