Equipment Sony Video Camera – HDR-CX7 To film my opening scenes, I will be using my Sony Handycam (HDR-CX7) instead of a cannon 1100D/600D. I have chosen to use this camera for its following abilities and reasons: Lightweight – 15 ounces with battery, card and strap Swing out, 2.7 inch screen for filming difficult angles Zoom lever, for smooth and stabilised zooming Shoots in AVCHD quality Small/handheld with built in stabiliser for smooth, ‘on the move’ filming My opening scene consists of many over the shoulder shots and also shots that require a still, stable, level shot. Therefore, I will be using a tripod to simply stabilise the camera and keep it level. I also have a few tracking shots and in order to walk with the camera I have decided to use a tripod for this as well for added stability. The tripod also allows me to rotate/pan during filming and I can obviously adjust the height of the legs and ‘stem’ dependant on the angles required. To capture and store my footage I will obviously need an SD Card. I am using a 32GB card to maximise the footage that I can film at any point and I shouldn’t have to worry about it filling up during filming. It allows me to keep all my footage in one place that I can look at and compare during and after filming. It also means that I can do as many re-shoots on all my shots as I like and still have lots of space left. Tripod 32GB SD Card

Sony Video Camera – HDR-CX7

To film my opening scenes, I will be using my Sony

Handycam (HDR-CX7) instead of a cannon 1100D/600D. I

have chosen to use this camera for its following abilities and reasons:

Lightweight – 15 ounces with battery, card and strap

Swing out, 2.7 inch screen for filming difficult angles

Zoom lever, for smooth and stabilised zooming

Shoots in AVCHD quality

Small/handheld with built in stabiliser for smooth, ‘on the move’ filming

My opening scene consists of many over the shoulder shots and also shots

that require a still, stable, level shot. Therefore, I will be using a tripod to

simply stabilise the camera and keep it level. I also have a few tracking

shots and in order to walk with the camera I have decided to use a tripod

for this as well for added stability. The tripod also allows me to rotate/pan

during filming and I can obviously adjust the height of the legs and ‘stem’ dependant on the angles required.

To capture and store my footage I will obviously need an SD Card. I am using a

32GB card to maximise the footage that I can film at any point and I shouldn’t

have to worry about it filling up during filming. It allows me to keep all my

footage in one place that I can look at and compare during and after filming. It

also means that I can do as many re-shoots on all my shots as I like and still have lots of space left.

I will be using my camera as a prop mainly but I also consider

it to be part of my equipment as well. This is because I will

actually be taker photos and then having them on screen

after I take them. The video camera I am using, although is

capable of taking still photos, they will not be of adequate

quality to be blown up full screen in-between my clips.
