Equine Reproduction Technician1-Year Certificate | October Start Blended Online & Olds Campus

Take your equine passion to a new level working and assisting pregnant mares and neonatal foals.

The Equine Reproduction Technician program is an eight month, blended learning certificate program aimed at providing graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in or operate an equine breeding facility. This hands-on program combines four months of online learning with four months of onsite, hands-on training.

Students will participate in the management of pregnant mares prior to foaling, during foaling and after foaling as well as care of the neonatal foal.

Student Experience

• Participate as part of a Foaling Group with assigned mares.

• Learn how to collect, handle, and analyze semen.

• Become competent with common modern reproductive techniques such as AI and Transported Cooled Semen.

• Facilities include a Production Barn, Laboratory, and Foaling Barn.
