What is EQ ?EQ - is a measure of your emotional intelligence, or your ability to use both your emotions and cognitive skills in your life. Emotional intelligence competencies include but are not limited to empathy, intuition, creativity, flexibility, resilience, coping, stress management, leadership, integrity, authenticity, intrapersonal skills and interpersonal skills

More about EQEmotional intelligence is simply defined as: knowing what feels good, what feels bad, and how to get from bad to good.Knowing your emotions and knowing emotion of others. It refers to emotional management skills which provide competency to Balance emotions and reason so as to maximize long term happiness.

What is IQ ?An intelligence quotient is a total score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence. The abbreviation "IQ" was coined by the psychologist William Stern for the German term Intelligenzquotient, his term for a scoring method for intelligence tests he advocated in a 1912 book. Historically, IQ is a score obtained by dividing a persons mental age score, obtained by administering an intelligence test, by the persons chronological age, both expressed in terms of years and months.

More about IQConventional wisdom has it that there's a direct connection between our IQ and our ability to succeed in life. In school, we're ranked by our CGPA. At certain points in grade school, students are given standardized tests that rank them against other students around the country. Schools are obsessed with how their students rank compared to others. A requirement for most colleges is a satisfactory score on the SAT or ACT exam. These tests are basic IQ tests, designed to gauge our math skills and reading comprehension.

EQ VS IQThe research shows that IQ can help you to be successful to the extent of 20 percent only in life. The rest of 80 percent success depends on your EQ.

CAN EQ BE DEVELOPED?You can develop your EQ by upgrading your emotional skills. The popular thinking that EQ is entirely inherited is incorrect. Emotional Intelligence is not fixed at birth. There is no emotional intelligence genes as such that we know of today. It is something one has learned.
