Epson Stylus Pro 3880

With the Epson Stylus Pro 3880, uncompromising quality is within reach. The compact, 17” wide printer includes Epson UltraChrome® K3 with Vivid Magenta Ink Technology, world-renowned for professional printing applications. This, combined with an advanced MicroPiezo AMC™ print head, enables the Pro 3880 to produce gallery-quality colour and black-and-white output up to 17” x 22”. The printer’s industry-acclaimed ink set delivers a phenomenal colour gamut with breath-taking blues and violets. Epson Stylus Pro 4900 (and 4900 SpectroProofer®)

Designed to redefine the standard for photographic print quality, the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 incorporates the latest achievements in professional-level ink jet technology by combining the precision of a MicroPiezo® TFP® print head with the extraordinary performance of Epson UltraChrome® HDR Ink.

Utilising ten colors - including an all-new Orange and Green - Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink produces the widest colour gamut ever from an Epson Stylus Pro printer. Its three-level black technology delivers richer blacks, outstanding tonal range and an unprecedented grey balance, all of which ensure outstanding black-and-white prints. Colours stay consistent, whether viewed straight out of the printer or decades later. With Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta, you get print quality and longevity that satisfies the most demanding professional.

The advanced Epson MicroPiezo TFP print head is capable of producing higher quality prints, at speeds up to twice as fast as the previous generation. And, with Epson´s latest ink-repelling coating and auto nozzle verification technologies, clogged nozzles are virtually eliminated.

Handling virtually any media type, in both roll or cut-sheet up to 17 inches wide, the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 continues to set the standard for professional media use. And for the first time, you can have both the front paper tray and roll feeder loaded with different media types and automatically switch between them as you print.

Wizard-based Proof Certification and Job-based Optimisation

EFI eXpress integrates a Wizard-based certification routine based on Fogra and IDEAlliance standards for precise output control and a job-based optimisation to keep colours consistent.

In partnership with X-Rite®, Epson has developed the SpectroProofer®, a high-performance, in-line spectrophotometer for commercial proofing applications. When driven by EFI eXpress, the Stylus Pro 4900 SpectroProofer® can automate your workflow from job submission to verified output, including in-line ISO-compliant label printing. This makes the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 SpectroProofer® the perfect solution for the most demanding local proofing applications.

Additionally, EFI eXpress also supports the X-Rite i1Pro and EFI ES-1000 spectrophotometers for manual measurements when using the Epson Stylus Pro 3880 or 4900.

The integrated Verification feature allows you to automatically certify proofs when using the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 SpectroProofer´s integrated measuring device and also supports traditional MediaWedge measurements in conjunction with the EFI ES-1000 / X-Rite i1 Pro spectrophotometer.

EFI eXpress includes sophisticated spot colour simulations and makes colour management easy, e.g. it allows intuitive one-click spot colour customisations. Consequently, PANTONE, DIC, HKS and Toyo spot colour libraries are part of the product. The version’s native PDF support (Adobe PDF Print Engine 2.5) and the support of the Adobe PostScript 3 Engine ensure that PDF, PS and EPS files are ripped correctly and lead to predictable print results.

EFI eXpress supports all relevant file formats for the creative and proofing processes, including TIFF, JPEG, RAW and PSD - to name a few. Thanks to EFI eXpress’ setup-wizard, the software is ready to use right after the installation. EFI eXpress includes individually created printer linearisations and ICC profiles for selected EFI and Epson papers right out of the box, which you can easily and effortlessly update via any Web connection.

The colour management has been designed with all relevant industry standards in mind e.g. ICC, PDF/X, ISO 12647-7/8, SWOP, and GRACoL.
