Epoca 7 pro G – unique steel frame versionThe Epoca 7 pro G impresses with its ’pro’-functions and new technologies on the needle side, the individual thread guide control and the newly developed thread delivery. Trouble-free production of premium quality embroidery is guaranteed as a result of new electronic thread monitors, the newly crafted precision thread-cut and the new machine control unit. Consequently, our customers continue to benefit from a unique machine concept thanks to its sophisticated steel frame which does not require any foundation.

PentaGuide – Pentamat controlled thread guideThe new Pentamat controlled thread guide activates only the yarns of the active embroidering positions. The thread guide is individually and automatically controlled in the same way as the needle, the borer and the thread delivery. This gentle processing method guaran-tees minimal wear and tear on the yarn. In addition, it allows the machine to run at maximum RPM whilst putting minimal load onto the system.

Apart from the established advantages of the electronically adjustable thread guide and fabric pressers, the new Epoca 7 pro G captivates through the newly developed PentaGuide. This thread guide control can be individually operated and so guarantees minimal wear and tear on the yarn. The newly developed Pentamat housing together with the perfectly integrated electronic thread monitor ensure an extremely flat thread path. This leads to perfect results even when handling the most delicate yarns.

Guaranteed precision – new thread-cut system for the needle sideIn order to justify our title of world market leader for embroidery machines we have developed an entirely new and simplified thread-cut system. This processes all embroidery yarns extremely fast and with utmost precision. The main advan-tages of this thread-cut are short thread tails and completely reliable cutting elements which are spring-mounted. Moreover, the new system gives total flexibility when positioning the fabric presser fingers laterally.

SmartMon – Electronic thread monitorThe entirely new thread monitor reliably detects thread breaks on both needle and shuttle sides and stops the machine almost immediately. This significantly reduces expenses for mending. The new multi-colour display recognises errors instantly and can thus detect and eliminate them fast. The threading process is massively simplified thanks to individual colour coding. The new, low-maintenance thread monitor is perfectly integrated into the flat yarn path and processes all yarns without any problems.

New Pentamat housingWhen developing the new Pentamat housing, our engineers were focusing on maximum reliability, minimum wear and tear and optimal functionality. The new Pentamat housing sets itself apart be-cause single components can be interchanged easily. Hence the housing does no longer need to be adjusted and set.

ActiFeed – the new thread deliveryIt is 20 years since Saurer first presented the active delivery of the embroidery yarn on an em-broidery machine. In order to meet the demands of the current embroidery industry, we have further improved and perfected this unique thread delivery. It is thanks to solid bearing surfaces and a very robust construction that the new thread delivery works perfectly, even under the most extreme conditions. The system is complemented by the newly developed Pentafeed. The new lateral guiding of the thread guarantees best quality even with the most delicate yarns. Threading is fast and simple because of the straight thread path.

Exceedingly simple – flexible cardan shaftThe unique drive unit on the shuttle side is main-tenance-free and, combined with a high-precision linear guide, extremely reliable. Furthermore, this guarantees maximum accessibility when changing the fabric.

The individually controlled cutting elements and the unique thread clamps ensure minimal thread tails which guarantees highest quality for even the most complex designs.

Perfect timing – the electronic fabric presser A vast variety of setting options such as opening angle, opening time, duration of pressure and pressure force prevents distortion caused by the fabric presser. Problems with long blatt stitches are a thing of the past.

Unique – the electronically adjustable thread guideThe embroidery process can be optimised with the unique setting option of the thread guide. It has been adapted to be set individually for various stitch types (BSTI, SSTI, DSTI). All data is saved with the design and can be reproduced at any time.

Unique – setting the shuttle timingThe embroidery process can be optimised at any time and for each type of yarn thanks to the electronically adjustable shuttle timing. The shuttle timing can now be set individually for each type of stitch (BSTI, SSTI, DSTI). This ensures that quality and productivity are further increased – for in-stance, when working with cotton. Hence missing and loose stitches hardly ever occur.

Smooth and precise – continuous thread delivery The adaptation of the thread delivery does justice to diverse requirements regarding effects and fabrics. The correct amount of thread is deliv-ered automatically and reliably without any ten-sion.

For a diversity of materials – a variety of opportunitiesIt ensures optimum settings for each fabric. Settings can be reproduced during all stages from design to serial production.

Pinpoint accuracy – the electronically controlled fabric presserThe electronically controlled fabric presser system has been adapted to be powered even more di-rectly thus minimising mass movement. This guarantees smooth operation, reduced energy consumption and less wear and tear. The fabric presser fingers can be positioned laterally by performing a simple adjustment at the fabric presser drives. The perfect settings ensure best embroidery quality and can be saved directly to the design.

‘pro’ – additional value

Maximum performance – the electronically adjustable drivesThe reliable and low-maintenance drive system is configured to suit individual requirements. The balanced cam drives are power-flow optimised. They are integrated into the machine pillars on the needle and shuttle sides and thus guarantee smooth operation and precise embroidering at maximum RPM. The second main shaft and the additional motor are perfectly integrated into the system. The additional motor drives the individu-ally adjustable thread guide.

Guaranteed precision – adjustable carriage widthA precisely adjusted carriage width is indispensa-ble to achieve perfect quality. This parameter can be set easily and reproduced at any time with an accuracy of 0.1 mm, thanks to the integrated scale.

New lateral tensioning bars for fast adjustmentThe new stable lateral tensioning bars can be adjusted extremely fast. The robust trapezoidal threaded rods ensure that the fabric can be mounted quickly and precisely.

Optimised fabric roller driveThe new fabric roller drive moves minimal mass thus increases embroidery quality.

New control unit

New control unit technology The control unit system of the Epoca 7 contains highly dynamic servo drives “Made in Germany”. The control of the motors as well as the evaluation of the sensors are now carried out directly via a standardised field bus. This ensures that the control unit is up-to-date and ready for future expansion. Thanks to the addition of this latest technology, performance is increased and at the same time power loss in the control box is reduced by up to 20%.

The sophisticated ventilation system in the newly designed control box guarantees perfect temperature and ensures that all electronic components are optimally cooled. The maintenance-free metal filters are self-cleaning and keep the control box free of dust.

The entire control unit has been completely reinvented for maximum performance, exceptional reliability and lowest maintenance.

Touch-Screen – convenient handlingA large panel PC with touch-screen guarantees convenient handling. The modern software is self-explanatory and gives a realistic 3D presentation of your designs as well as the embroidery progress. Any machine function can be easily carried out by a single touch of a button. You can retrieve, change and save machine settings, yarn parameters and embroidery programmes. Designs are easily copied onto the machine with drag & drop.

Design optimisers – high performance concealedRegardless of the source of the embroidery designs, the integrated Saurer Embroidery design optimisers ensure optimal production. Other highlights of this powerful optimisation software are a vast variety of functions such as reduction of empty-stitches and indi-cation of embroidery problems.

iSed – the intelligent Saurer editoriSed enables smart edition, simple correction and unrivalled visual-isation for best performance. Many functions which previously have only been possible in punching can all be carried out in iSed; i.e. changing the stitch density and stitch length, adapting the over-stitches or transforming stitches or entire design parts. New intel-ligent design processors together with superior optimisers, the verification of stitch rules and visualisation of potential problems guarantee optimal productivity of the embroidery machine.

Mending – for PentaCut machinesThe new thread monitor recognises thread breaks in a fraction of a second. Should any stitches be missing after a thread break or after a change of shuttles the automatic mending function ingen-iously remedies flaws quickly and perfectly without any fuss. Stitches are locked and threads are cut automatically.
