INTRODUCING
S TEVE MAZEY GUEST SPEAKER
EPICENTRE CHURCH
We asked Steve to come and speak at Epicentre Church on November the 14th for our month on ‘Kingdom Finance’ not because he is a really cool guy (which he is by the way) but because he has a great biblical perspective on finance. After giving his life to Jesus at 16 Steve has always had a strong desire to serve Him in any capacity he could. After serving in a variety of Youth Pastor positions around Australia, Steve and his wife Jenny commenced as Senior Pastors of Hills Christian Life Church in March 2005. Steve is also the City East District leader for the Australian Christian Churches. Steve is passionate about raising people of all generations to fruitful service in the Kingdom of God, and is deeply stirred about prayer and the Holy Spirit. Steve and Jen have been married for 13 years and have two Children Ethan and Brooke. Recently Steve graciously took some time out to answer a few questions for us... DESCRIBE YOURSELF I think describing yourself is very difficult. I reckon someone driven by a world he hasn't seen but want's to experience, believing in people and loving people in the best he can. HIDDEN TALENTS My hidden talent is nor-mally trivia and weird and random facts that for some reason I retain in my mind. FAVOURITE THING TO DO IN SUMMER I love Kayaking so summer time is great I try and get out 3 times a week, also I love the beach with the family. If we can combine the two, awesome! WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB When i was young I really wanted to be a boat builder. After two weeks in the factory I changed my mind. I don't think that there is such a thing as a dream job. All jobs have something that at times you would prefer not to do. WHAT ARE YOU
READING AT THE MOMENT In the Company of Heroes, Michael Durant. Don't waste your life, John Piper. WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO Every year in Winter we
head up to Noosa for two weeks to enjoy the sun. I have loved creating memories with my family and a tradition that places value on the family. So it's not really Noosa...
(although it's nice!) it's what it means to us. WHAT IS PLAYING ON YOUR IPOD AT THE MOMENT Church Music, Dave Crowder. Leadership Lessons, Andy Stanley. THE BEST IDEA YOU HAVE EVER HAD To surrender my life to Christ (or was that His idea?).
Apart from that to become an avid reader. There are a lot of intelligent people with
ideas and gifts that you can learn things off if your willing to invest in reading. FAVORITE MOVIES
Ronin, The Blind Side, The Sting. TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY I have two awesome kids Ethan (7)
and Brooke (6) they have taught me some great lessons in life. Never take yourself too seriously,
and to get over things quickly. I have been married to my wife for 13 years and I love her more today
than ever. She has been so instrumental in my growth as a person and a pastor. IF YOU HAD TO BRING IT DOWN TO ONE THING, WHAT IS YOUR PASSION Helping people meet Jesus then grow more like him. WHY IS TALKING ABOUT MONEY
IMPORTANT I can think of a million reasons, here is just one. For anything to succeed in life someone has to pay the cost, reaping and sowing is part of
the journey for Christians. Your only here today as a Christian because it cost someone, somewhere
for your salvation, (some people even gave up their lives) The world will never come to the Church and
say "hey we really love what your doing, can we pay for you to share the gospel with us". If we
really believe in we have the greatest message needed in the world today, but fail to support that financially we are really hollow in our convictions.
as the world would say "Put your money where your mouth is" You can always tell how serious
about your convictions are by your level of invest-ment of finances in it. WHAT ONE THOUGHT ARE
YOU HOPING TO IMPART EPICENTRE CHURCH WITH To come to a new place of Freedom and Faith
in their finances for Kingdom purpose. WHAT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE YOU
HAVE LEARNT IN LIFE There is two I can't split 1) Never lend out your chainsaw or wife (as told by an 84 year old farmer) 2) Keep sweet and Love Jesus
(every time I am disappointed or hurt by circum-stances in life that always comes back to me).

Music - Media - Arts Hey Church, I have loved being a part of the team this year. Personally, Libby and I were in such a different place just a few short years ago, spiritually and geographically. But I can say without doubt that Epicentre Church is home for us. I love what God has done in our marriage and family since coming here and I’m honoured that I get to be a part of a team that creates an atmosphere God desires to come be in. We are expecting new songs, new team members, and great encounters over the next few months as we wrap up 2010. It's the busiest time of year so as a church we need to purpose in our hearts that when we come together God WILL be lifted up without fail. Every single time. Love you Church, Tyler Hudson Ph: 0428664655 (PS - We will be having extra music practices leading up to the Christmas Spectacular! See the Church Cal)

AFRICA update:
We have recently partnered with “Garden of Hope” church in South Africa. It is located approximately four hours northeast of Johannesburg in a community called Kabokweni. Officially 43% of the community is HIV positive. There are multitudes of orphans and neglected children. As a church, we will be launching a sponsorship program to help feed, educate, clothe and protect many of these beautiful children. Elizabeth Mabena and her husband Nicholas are the visionaries behind this child rescue program. We will also be supporting Pastor Mangaliso, a 24 year old, who has taken on the responsibility of the church. We are also planning annual trips to help build programs, buildings, church leaders, feeding programs and community events. Andy Steele, Shelley Metzger and Damien Warren have already experienced the hospitality of these amazing people. Please email [email protected] or talk to Damien if you would like to know more!
What does God think about money? November at Epicentre Church.

God is awesome! Our Links program for 2010 started in February 2010 with 4 adult links - 20 attendees. By the end of August we had 9 adult links with 61 attendees + 45 Arena/Amplified Youth attendees = 106!
Two Ladies’ Links met weekly for 16 weeks to study Lisa Bevere’s “Fight Like a Girl” – Lisa Bevere suggests that women can be "caretakers of others' hearts, by lifting another's spirit by speaking strength to their weaknesses, and wisely offering images of healthier, life-enhancing practices." She asserts that enemies often fall before influence rather than brute strength: "A gentle tongue can break a bone" (Prov. 25:15).
Feedback from the groups was extremely positive – “The study gave a much different perspective of being a Christian woman and viewing life through God’s eyes.”
To celebrate the completion of the 16 week study, a dinner was held at Bonney’s Room, Echuca – each lady attending received a marigold plant (in the same way that marigolds seem to multiply rapidly, the ladies were encouraged to multiply what they had learnt from the study and share God’s love with others!).
One of the Men’s Groups is currently completing a study of John Bevere’s series “Breaking Intimidation”. This series looks at “Being a valiant warrior who will bring forth great victories in the strength of God.”
If you would like assistance to find a Link please see Pastors Paul or Kerry Parry or email [email protected]
We are excited that the Link Leaders’ Guide is almost ready for distribution! The first copies will be released at our Link Leaders’ Training Night.
This night is for all current Link Leaders and also for those interested in starting a link. This meeting kicks off at 7.30pm at 10 Westin Pl Echuca.

EPICENTRE MINISTRY COLLEGE - OFFERING CERT. 4 IN MINISTRY -
The Certificate 4 provides a unique opportunity to develop and connect the body of Christ. Based upon Alphacrucis' excellent e-learning modules, students spend time reflecting and studying in the comfort of their local church.
The program is designed to resource individuals and is further complemented when a group of students join together in their local church to discuss what has been learned. It is at this point the local church has an integral part to play.
8 subjects are covered, providing the students with a sound, practical grounding in the Word of God. The fieldwork component of the course provides 25% hands-on training in the local church, a valuable asset to any Senior Pastor.
This program is an amazing opportunity to not only empower the individual but to also provide a safe environment in which to develop relationships.
For any information regarding this course please contact Phillip Brown on 0447437155

VOLUNTEERING
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Would you love to have God’s heart?
It’s a great question, but look at what His word says; “My heart is with Israel's princes, with the willing volunteers among the people.” Judges 5:9 God is interested in all of us serving in His house. Not just “doing a job”, but having a willing heart to volunteer in building His church. Jesus set us the example…The King of Heaven said with His own words…”I haven’t come to be served, but to serve.” That is His heart, no wonder He wants us to have the same attitude. 1 Chronicles 28:20-21 (Part of Epicentre Church prophesy October 2007) David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished. The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing man skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command." As we enter into this next step as Epicentre Church…it is so important to make sure our attitudes are in line with God’s purpose. Volunteer, do whatever it takes, but know that God sees and His heart is with you. There are so many areas for you to volunteer including: Café, Music, Sound, Cleaning, Kids Ministry, Youth Ministry, Administration, Hosting, Information Desk, Op Shop… etc etc So why not volunteer? Get involved today… See Judi Payne for more info or email [email protected]
LeadershipTraining These are always fantastic nights as the soul of our church gets together.
This night is for all leaders and volunteers to come and have leadership input from Ps. Damien, special guest speakers and the team. If you’re a leader/volunteer in any capacity you need to prioritize these nights!
