CHRISTIAN BEHAVIOR PART- 6RAISING CHILDREN AND WORKING FOR A LIVING

I. INTRODUCTION

A. What the Lord expects from a wife and husband.

1. 6-part study, being “in the world but not of the world.” 2. As Christians, we are to be different! a) A husband and wife to treat each other differently b) Behavior of Christian children is to be different. (1) A “Christian Behavior” that the Lord expects.

c) See how this behavior applies to employers

and employees.

II. EPHESIANS 6:1-3 

A. hupakouo =  be obedient to, to submit to, to listen to.

1. The 6th Commandment.

2. Proverbs 3:16 a) A young person who

is wise will escape many of life’s trials!

b) Proverbs 1:1-9 (1) If we would only listen!

(2) Life would be richer and easier!

(a) Proverbs 4:20-27

c) Parents want the best for their children.

(1) Young person trust the Lord.

(2) Next, Christian fathers!

III. EPHESIANS 6:4 

A. “provoke” = “to enrage”

1. Parents not to pick on their children.

a) Children think that means no grounding.b) Parent in a child’s life

for training them. (1) Cannot give child

everything they want.

(a) May not lead to Godliness at all!

c) Parents should not frustrate their children.

2. Father’s responsibility to train children in the

Lorda) Doesn’t mean mom

shouldn’t participate. (1) “How do I do that?”

3. Deuteronomy 11:18-21 

a) Three methods of teaching, two attitudes!!

(1) First, must know ways of the Lord!

(2) Second, be a part of our lives!!(a) Otherwise, “Don’t

do as I do, do as I say!” 

(b) More to do with frequency than technique.

(1) First: “When sitting in your home.”

(a) Hopefully often!(2) Second: when taking

a walk.(3) Thirdly: when you go

to bed! (a) Nighttime prayer a

way to teach children about the Lord!

(a) Proverbs 22:6 (i) According to his

"bent"!! c) Attention to Salves and Master.

IV. EMPLOYEES

A. EPHESIANS 6:5-8 

1. “obedient” in verse 5 = “obey” in verse 1

a) Give employers same respect children to

have for them! (1) Not questioning every decision! (2) Workers to respect

their employers.

(3) Not just work while being watched.

(a) A Christian answers to a higher call.

(i) Working for the Lord!

(4) verse 8 = Principle of “sowing and reaping”.

(a) Be an employee of honor and integrity.

V. EMPLOYERS

A. EPHESIANS 6:9 

1. The Lord requires same work ethic from employers.

a) Treat employees with respect and

appreciation.b) Expected to keep

their word and promises!

VI. CONCLUSION

A. At times, raising children, and working seem hopeless.

1. When Pharaoh was drowning babies, Moses

was born! 2. Daniel made a stand for God!!

3. Herod murdering male children, God's own Son

was born!!a) We can raise Godly

kids with HIS help!!b) No matter how mundane work seems do it "As unto the Lord!

(1) Relationship with the Holy Spirit

makes this possible.(a) Galatians 5:16-
