2016 ANNUAL NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR YOUNG ARTS SCHOLARS (ANSYASIOF THE PHILIPPINE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS (PHSA)

1. The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA), a government-run specialsecondary school for young artists, is now accepting applications for full scholarship to aSpecial K to 12 Secondary Education for School Year (SY)2016-2017.

2. The Annual Search for Young Arts Scholars (ANSYAS) aims to identify anddevelop artistically gifted and talented children to become artists of excellence in thefields of (a) ballet and folk dance, (b) creative writing, (c) music, (d) theater, and (e) visualarts.

3. Applicants must be Filipino citizens who can meet the following requirements:

a. Outstanding ability in dance (folk or ballet), music (instrumentand voice), creative writing, theater, and visual arts;

b. Grade Six pupil this SY 2015-2016 in a public or private school;c. Proficient in oral and written language (English and Filipino);d. Good health condition;e. Willing to study in a boarding school; andf. Not more than 14 years old by June 15,2016.

4. The successful applicants will be awarded full scholarship which includes freetuition fee, textbooks, board and lodging, a modest monthly stipend, individualizedclasses with master teachers, and a chance to represent the country in internationalcompetitions, arts festivals, and exchange programs. The scholarship is renewable everyyear upon satisfaction of both academic and non-academic requirements in the K to 12Curriculum.

5. Interested applicants may directly send their accomplished application forms andother requirements by mail, ernail, or by personally submitting them to the AnnualNationwide Search for Young Arts Scholars (ANSYAS)Committee, pHSA, National ArtsCenter, Mt. Makiling, College 4031, Laguna. The PHSA Scholarship Form is enclosed.

6. The deadline for submission of applications is on August 31, 2015.

7. The PHSA will announce the specific venue and final dates of thescreeningf audition by mail. Applicants who will qualify in the preliminary evaluation willbe notified by the PHSA for further assessment and live audition at a specified RegionalTest and Audition Centers in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and in the National CapitalRegion (NCR). They will be informed of the specific venue and dates of the audition bymail, andf or by email.

Search Objective

The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA)conducts screening of applicants yearly to identifyand give scholarships to artistically gifted andtalented children all over the Philippines. Studentapplicants will go through an audition process todetermine their artistic skills and talent under thesupervision of the audition masters for each of thefive(5) art endeavors.

Scholarship Priviledges

The successful applicant is awarded free tuition fee,board and lodging (with weekend home leave withthe parents or with a designated legal guardian),classes with master teachers, a monthly stipend, plusthe Chance to represent the country and the schoolin international festivals, competitions and exchangeprograms.
