Background to the project
• Experiences from ePPSME• Inconsistencies in accreditation of prior
learning throughout UoW• Establishing an approach which could;
– Reduce staff time costs– Provide more consistent information, advice,
guidance and charging structures– Develop students online personal learning
presence
The platform
Why choose ePortfolio?
• A natural platform for recording and evidencing prior learning
• Embedded within current L & T practices at UoW
• ePortfolio supports the ePDP and CPD agenda at UoW
• Accessible online for both applicants and reviewers
The approach
• Small scale funding from the LLN
• Work closely with UoW’s ePortfolio provider
• Consultation with all relevant departments within UoW
• Two pilot groups– Academic and support services staff– Students on a WBL programme of study

• More development on tool and process– Link with course learning outcomes
(MUSKET?)– Embed process within UoW
• Collaboration with other Universities to develop a cross institutional tool?– Evidence could then be linked easily from
