Ready For Anything
Does the world really need another watch company? We asked ourselves that before launching a new venture
into a world where product choices are endless and often lack differentiation at affordable prices. So, not
surprisingly, a quick answer was “no.” However, coming from a company that was all about sport and working
on watches for a number of years, we felt we could differentiate from the current brands with innovative and
desirable products that blend a universe of sport, style and utility. Products that complemented our lifestyle.
Products that were versatile and ready for anything.
Through our initial design creation process, we looked to sources of inspiration all around us including the
numerous stories and challenges faced by my grandfather Edward P. Martin. As well as our friend Charlie Engle
who just completed a 4,620 mile run across the Sahara in 111 days, pushing the mental and physical limits of
his will in order to bring greater awareness of the water crisis in Africa. We combined these with our own
insights from immersing ourselves in similar activities and adventures.
We are driven to deliver the best products to action-addicted adventurers who balance their adrenaline pursuit
with the reality of everyday life. I hope that you see the extreme effort we have taken in our design and enjoy
our products as much as we do. We are currently developing additional styles and products that will be avail-
able soon.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact me at [email protected].

Our Story
EPMartin was created when Jason Martin and Michael Prstojevich desired products that complemented their
lifestyle. Blending a universe of sport, style and utility, they envisioned versatile, multi-use products that are
ready for anything. Athletic Luxury - product that is durable for the deserts of Africa yet refined enough for
premiers in LA. Product that is grounded with the reality of day-to-day life before the next adventure.
Our inspiration is Ed P. Martin (Jason’s grandfather) who served as Crew Chief for the greatest air armada in
history, The Eighth Bomber Command (8th AF). As Crew Chief, he was ready to face any challenge put before
him. He continued this commitment to his country while at NASA. Through his sheer determination and creativ-
ity, Ed Martin was ready for anything.
EPMartin designs products for those among us whose desire it is to test the boundaries of the human spirit
today. Those who are ready for the next challenge. Those who are ready for a new adventure. Those who are
ready to forge their own path. From adventure teams racing across the harshest terrain, to members of elite
military units training to protect, these individuals push the mental and physical limits of their will in the sheer
pursuit of staving off the breaking point. We like to think that Ed would appreciate the ethic shown by these
individuals as they, like he, understand that the only day you could possibly give more of yourself than today is
tomorrow.
At EPMartin, we are driven to deliver the best products to action-addicted adventurers who balance their
andrenaline pursuit with the reality of everyday life. After all, a life without adventure is a life not worth living.
To do this means the real challenge is to climb inside the minds of these adventurers. To immerse ourselves in
the same activities and connect with their life. This is a bit easier for us because we live the life as well. This
means we take extreme effort in designing, prototyping and testing our products. We personally put our
products thru the most extreme environments and conditions. We are ready for anything. Are you?
The Sahara Expedition Chronograph is the debut style of the Torch Collection designed by Jason Martin.
Inspired and built for Charlie Engle for his coast to coast run across the Sahara. The Sahara Expedition
Chronograph includes an ETA Swiss movement and comes equipped with an Italian leather strap, a second
Nylon expedition strap, and two custom strap replacement tools - all packaged in a leather stitched case.

Charlie Engle, Ray Zahab, H20 Africa
Three men - Charlie Engle (USA), Ray Zahab (Canada), and Kevin Line (Taiwan) - have completed an unprec-
edented quest: running 4,620 miles (7,435 kilometers) coast-to-coast across the Sahara Desert, from Senegal
to Egypt, in 111 days (crossing six countries in total). Running up to 50 miles (80 kilometers) a day, these
international athletes put their bodies and spirits to the test in an amazing feat of human will and endurance.
Each runner brought his own unique story and motivations, but all unite around a love for Africa and a profound
desire to make a difference in the lives of the people of the Sahara in the best way they know how - by risking
their lives running coast-to-coast across the Sahara Desert to prove that the impossible is possible; and in the
process bring people into a new relationship with the Sahara and its people. These personal stories are set
against an incredible backdrop. Sprawling over 3.5 million square miles (5.6 million square kilometers), the
Sahara is a mystical land, enchanting for its extreme beauty and its complex culture. At the same time, it may
well be the most unforgiving place on Earth - the daytime heat and the freezing temperatures at night can suck
the life from a body in an instant. Most see the Sahara as only sand, but it has one of the most diverse ecosys-
tems in the world. In fact, it has nine different ecosystems offering thousand-foot (three-hundred meter) sand
dunes and lush oases. Plant and animal life thrive in places so desolate that survival seems impossible.
Through the eyes of our runners and their stories, we will come to understand the realities of Africa - the beauty
and the tragedy inherent in everyday life. This reality is underscored by the recurring theme of water - a daily
necessity for our runners and a daily struggle for many of the people they encounter. The runners encountered
and interacted with the many locals who spend two-and-a-half hours per day, every day, finding and cleaning
their water for that day.
H2O Africa is the charitable organization that the runners established: a clean water initiative with the mission
to create widespread public awareness of the water crisis in Africa and gather support for integrated sustain-
able clean water programs in critical areas. In many cases, these programs will complement or include other
activity such as education, infrastructure development, and health care.
The money raised by H2O Africa will fund activities of leading charitable organizations and NGO’s that have
experience and current programs on the ground in Africa. As the Running the Sahara expedition crossed
Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya, and Egypt, it identified key areas of need for clean water programs and
H2O Africa will turn to its group of charitable partners to address those areas of need.
EPMartin contributes a portion of the purchase price of every Sahara Expedition watch to H20 Africa.
The World Health Organization estimates that lack of safe drinking water kills almost 4,500 children per day,
mostly under the age of five. WaterAid estimates roughly 20 percent of the world's population—nearly 1.1 billion
people—lack access to clean drinking water.
Through it all, the Sahara Expedition Chronograph from EPMartin was on Charlie’s and Ray’s wrist during this
amazing quest. Stay tuned for more information about the documentary on this quest; please visit the following

On 20 February 2007, Charlie Engle finished a run with Ray Zahab and Kevin Lin. That run was 4,620 miles. It went across the Sahara desert. It took 111 days, just under 4 months, running 40-50 miles each day, or 176 marathons in a row in conditions very similar to Hell, but with a lot more sand and a bit more heat. They ran for H20 Africa, an organization saving millions of lives by bringing clean water to the continent, and they ran for themselves, individuals obsessed with pushing the threshold of the human psyche. Two truly profound causes. An unprecedented accomplishment, but, Charlie, next time may we suggest a good 5k charity run.
Are you ready to make a difference? The Limited Edition Running The Sahara Chronograph from EPMartin celebrates the achievement of Charlie Engle, Ray Zahab and Kevin Lin and raises aware-ness for H20 Africa. A portion of the purchase price of each EPMartin watch goes directly to H20 Africa to build sustainable wells in Africa

In the 1950’s the Soviet Union pioneered the use of titanium in military and submarine applications as part of programs related to the Cold War. Due to its durability, corrosion resistance and the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal, EPMartin expands the collection with the Sahara Titanium. The Sahara Ti utilizes a solid titanium case and comes equipped with an ETA Swiss chro-nograph movement, Italian leather strap, a second Nylon expedition strap, and two custom strap replacement tools - all packaged in a leather stitched case.

Cartridge

The inspiration for the design of the Cartridge came from the FP-45 Liberator pistol manufactured by the US in World War II for use by resistance forces in occupied territories. A simple pistol that the Army turned over to the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) was stamped stainless steel construction that fired a single .45 caliber round. A simple yet refined design that is truly ready for anything, the Cartridge comes equipped with an ETA Swiss big date movement, Italian leather strap, a second Nylon expedition strap, and two custom strap replacement tools - all packaged in a leather stitched case.
