Administrators are given selective permissions to create and manage appraisal scorecards, designed to assist Area Managers to prepare consistent appraisals and note Action Items to fix performance gaps
Scorecards are developed to guide the Area Manager through the actual appraisal, ensuring that all business units or processes are reviewed to the same criteria and standards
The Scorecard is a ‘performance tree’ for logically breaking an ‘audit’ into parts – for example, the ‘Elements’ may be 4 or 5 focused objectives essential to the measurement, which are then further sub-divided into more specific particulars
The questions become the checklist to guide the conduct of the business review, encouraging consistency across business units, and with the option of allowing an Action Item to be recorded with an e-mail reminder
This is a picture of a scorecard, the important Element broken down into a sub-group and then into the questions – all adding back to 100% for efficiency calculation. Entries in blue are optional ‘company standards’
When conducting a review on a process the ‘Reviewer’ selects the scorecard and assigns it to the business unit

The review responses are entered into the scorecard form together with any comments and Action Items, a person responsible for fixing issues, the timeline, and optionally a future e-mail reminder.
As soon as the scorecard is completed the efficiencies are calculated and the results, comments and Action Items are available self-service, 24/7 to anyone who has the correct permissions to access
Reports are available to measure the comparative efficiencies across groups of business units, with the opportunity to drill right down to the question answers making up a measurement. All data is forever stored in the database
Action Items that are required to zap performance gaps, and are entered into the system, are available 24/7 with the appropriate permission. Even when completed they remain to provide a history for the business unit
Action Items are updated with additional comments or are completed, but remain in the database as history, forever. Note that this business unit will receive an e-mail reminder 3 days prior to due completion date.
Reminders can be optionally added to an Action Item to be e-mailed at the pre-determined time
