End-of-Course (EOC) TestsEnd-of-Course (EOC) Tests

• End-of-Course (EOC) testing is a recommendation of the High School Redesign Commission and is an increasingly common practice in many other states.

• End-of-Course tests help ensure consistent and rigorous instruction and expectations throughout the state.

• EOC tests are gradually replacing 9th grade iLEAP, 10th grade GEE, and 11th grade GEE.

EOCs in High School EOCs in High School Accountability Accountability

• In 2010-2011, the Baseline SPS for high school accountability will be based on iLEAP and GEE (and LAA 1 & LAA 2).

• In order to have an “apples to apples” comparison in 2011-2012, a “transition” baseline SPS consisting of 2010-2011 EOCs will be created.

• The 2011-2012 Growth SPS, used for Growth Labels, will include the same EOC subjects as the 2010-2011 “transition” baseline.
