Envoy SAE Standalone GSLB that Plays Nice with Others

Envoy Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) makes your network reliable and available by solving the complex problem of scaling across multiple data centers. Administrators can set up rules that direct traffic based on site availability, data center performance and distance. Envoy SAE takes Coyote Point’s proven DNS-based Envoy GSLB module and separates it from the application delivery controller as a standalone appliance with new features for today’s multi-vendor and complex network topologies. It is designed to accommodate separate or more complex network tier structures including resolution directly to local or host-based application servers. As a standalone device, Envoy SAE can eliminate single points of failure by separating (GSLB) from your application delivery controllers or by adding GSLB to your existing infrastructure without having to convert your entire application delivery architecture. Envoy SAE seamlessly integrates with ADCs from other manufacturers including F5™, Citrix™ and A10 Networks™. Coyote Point offers two options, the hardware based Envoy SAE and the virtual Envoy OnDemand SAE. Both versions offer the same features. You get to choose the platform that best suits your needs for your infrastructure as a hardware or virtual appliance.

Envoy SAE Global Server Load Balancing Like the Envoy module, Envoy SAE provides rock-solid GSLB for scalability across multiple data centers, multiple carriers and/or Wide Area Networks. Using business-defined traffic policies with our Geographic Query Protocol, Envoy provides options to resolve traffic based on application health, static weighting, server load or lowest latency to the client to ensure the best application response. Multi-vendor Support with SNMP Health Checks Envoy SAE uses Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to query any SNMP capable device from almost any manufacturer, including F5, Citrix and A10, to determine server health and status. Unlike other GSLB solutions in the market, Envoy SAE’s industry standard SNMP health checks can easily add GSLB to an existing ADC infrastructure. You sunk your investment in ADCs and now you can link them together easily and affordably. Besides SNMP, we offer numerous other protocols to fit your network requirements. Disaster Recovery and Seamless Failover If there’s a network outage, server failure or other disturbance, Envoy SAE ensures availability by engaging surviving sites seamlessly. Envoy SAE can be configured in a fault tolerant (DR) configuration with a redundant Envoy SAE in hot standby. Network administrators can confidently deliver mission-critical services or applications with 100% availability in event of a network or data center outage. Direct Server Resolution Most GSLB solutions can’t resolve queries without an ADC to manage and monitor server resources. If you’re looking to resolve directly to application servers in your infrastructure, you’re stuck when it comes to most other vendors. With Envoy SAE , you can resolve intelligently to ADC virtual addresses, or with application level health checking capabilities, directly to application servers within your infrastructure or application servers living in the cloud. Multiple Sites, One Envoy SAE By separating GSLB from the ADC, Envoy SAE’s GeoSite Independence supports routing of traffic to multiple GeoSites without the need to have an Envoy SAE at every location. Envoy SAE supports up to 100 GeoSites per GeoCluster. A single Envoy SAE is capable of monitoring the health of up to 10 GeoSites. Easy to Deploy, Easy to Maintain Integrating with existing DNS, Envoy SAE provides an easy-to-use graphical interface to simplify network disaster recovery and multisite DNS-based load balancing. When clients and local name servers resolve your site’s host name to an IP address, Envoy SAE utilizes up to the second application health state information, in conjunction with site load, site weight and latency metrics to return the IP address of the best available site. Users experience the highest possible application performance and availability with absolutely no configuration changes at the client or server.
