Objectives

The students will discover the effects humans have on their environmental surroundings. They will do this through reading and comprehension of articles of scientific research concerning pollution, polluted sites and pollution resistant beings.

Students will use their computers for taking notes, answering the unit questions and creating their brochures and PowerPoints

8. Describe what challenges might arise for managing the classroom.

We currently use NetOp to monitor the student’s where-abouts when on internet.

With this unit the student must e-mail or call EPA headquarters through-out Region 8, so getting the information from the EPA directors can be challenging.

The students will all be at different levels of familiarity with the tablets, therefore a lot of computer teaching will have to take place

9. How repeatable is this lesson strategy for lessons you be teaching?

This unit used a variety of technological devices, just becoming efficient with them a challenge

10. Other considerations

Make sure you have the Tech Support restrict access to the “Final Presentation Folder” at a specific time so students all have the same amount of time to complete their projects.
