Environmental Magic Show

Did you know in April schools across the UK were given a total education budget of £89.5 billion to spend with suppliers? Do you have a show you can offer to schools which educates as well as entertains? If so, you can offer them a unique method of getting important information to their pupils. Importantly, these shows can be run on those days where you typically do not work. Educational Magic Shows are based on 3 key elements of performance management; 1. Entertainment combined with education; children learn best when they are having fun and enjoying themselves. 2. Audience participation; allowing children to learn by being involved. 3. Using magic to illustrate key points and helping children to remember the key message. I have been performing Educational Magic Shows in schools for nearly 20 years; it has been a good source of income for me. I am about to share the working details of these shows with a select group of magicians. This will be in the form of a half-day workshop held near Newcastle upon Tyne. Each workshop will only have 10 spaces. The first one available is my ‘Recycling Is Magic’ show. Children learn the importance of recycling, energy conservation, and the value of good environmental habits – whilst being entertained! Like magic!

Entertainment combined with education; children learn best when they are having fun and enjoying themselves.2. Audience participation; allowing children to learn by being involved.3.

Like magic!

THIS IS A VERY HOT TOPIC RIGHT NOW!You will be shown 2 complete 45 minute shows – one for Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2. These can be combined to make a show suitable for a mixed age range – such as at Environmental Fairs etc. You will also be shown how to theme standard magic routines. You will receive:

1. Full scripts and publicity materials including marketing letters, emails, feedback forms and hand-outs

2. A ceramic Lota Pot – these are the exact ones I supply Martin Breese International with. It’s the opening routine in the show. (Value £55).

3. An audio CD with the 7 minute ‘Recycling Pete’ routine on. This is for use with the Axtell Drawing Board (not supplied!).

4. A Teachers Guide data CD full of resources and classroom activities to follow up on.

5. A free 2 year entry on the www.educationalmagic.org.uk website. Schools and councils can search for magicians in their area offering themed shows. It’s only £10 a year thereafter.

6. Samples of handouts and prizes and where to get them – for free!

7. First page listing on Google when searched.

8. A database of schools for your county; an Excel Worksheet ready to download and Mail Merge into letters, flyers or emails (full instructions given!). This includes the phone number, email, postal address, and Head Teachers’ name for every school in your county. (Note: schools have the authority to make the key purchasing decisions when it comes to buying your services.

9. Your own exclusive county.

10. A full 2 years unlimited phone or email support.

The Cost? The half-day workshop is only £595 all-inclusiveTypically I charge a minimum of £150 per show.- so after only 4 shows you are making a profit. Remember – once you have paid for your half-day workshop you don’t pay anything else. The fee the school pays you is 100% yours. This is not a franchise. One supplier of educational magicians charges the school £175 and gives you £100!

What else will I need? You will receive a full list of props needed when you book your course. You may have many of them already. Presuming you didn’t then you would need to spend approx. £300 plus a rabbit production (if you wanted to use one).

Below is an example typical of the many testimonials I have received for these shows:

Mr Swan from Falla Park Primary saidMessage delivered in a very interesting way! Some very clever magic. Some lovely prizes – totally different! I enjoyed it and so did the children. It must have been good to keep the children so well behaved just before home time
