MRS. ROSE IANNETTI Mrs. Rose Iannetti7 82,

of Fourth Avenue, Slovan, died Monday, January 24, 1972.

She was born June 26, 1889, in Turin, Italy, and lived most of her life in Slovan.

M·rs. Iannetti was a member of Our Lady of Lour de s R& C. Church, Burgettstown.

Surviving are three nie ... ces, Elizabeth and Amalia Sciamanna, and Anita, wife of Joe Roberts.

Two nephews, Peter and E d w a r d Sciam anna, and her husband, Patsy, are deceased.

Mary Ihnat Mary Ihnat, 86, of Eldersville,

died Friday, Jan. 20, 1995, in .Sundale Nursing Home, Mor­gantown, W.Va.

She was born Dec. 4 , 1908, in Avella, a daughter of John and Sophia Pati'ina Wargo.

Mrs. Ihnat was a member of Eldersville United Methodist Church.

On Jan. 30, 1931, she married George Ihnat, who died June 24, 1978.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. Sack of Morgantown; a son, George Ihnat of Palos Hills, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Dreyer of Avella and Mrs. William (Betty) Pratt of New Cumberland, W.Va.; three brothers, Andrew and Steve Wargo, both of Steubenville, Ohio, and Paul Wargo of Wichita, Kail.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Margaret Ann Bentley; two sisters, Kathryn Daugherty and Sofia Andrews; and three brothers, John, Michael and George Wargo.

Friends were received in the Stefkovich Funeral Home, Avella, where services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay Sterling, pastor of Eldersville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Avella.

AGNES ILIK Agnes Ilik, 89, of Cherry

Valley. died on Friday. June 9, 1978, in the Kade Nursing Home in Washington.

She was born March 27, 1889, in Czechoslovakia. She was the daughter of Joseph andMaryTa­borski, and she lived in Cherry Valley for over 50 years.

Surviving are two sons, J o­seph, of Bethel Park, and Ru­dolph, of Canton, Ohio. A daugh­ter, Agnes Donahue, lives in Whittier, California.

Also surviving are two bro­thers, Gabe Taborski, of Cherry Valley, and Joseph Taborski, of Monroe, Michigan. She is also survived by a sister, Jo·sephine Szymik, of Bellevue, and four granddaughters.

Her husband, Richard, and one grandson are deceased.

Friends were received in the Lee Funeral Home, where ser­vices were held at 11 a.m. Mon­day, with the Rev. Ralph Volpe officiating. Burial was in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.

an automobile accident He was born November

14, 1944, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Elmer J. and Helen Pritchard Dlig.

Mr. Illig was a graduate of South Side Beaver and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He retired from the mEW Electrical Work­ers l.ocal1919.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Burgettstown, Knights of Columbus Counci13440 and Bishop Boyle Assembly 4th Degree and Honor Guard

Mr.lllig was the patriarch and heart of his family, be­lieving the love of family is life's greatest blessing.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Joanne Murin mig; daughter Annette (Chris) Green of Joffre; son Matthew Illig of Canonsburg; grand­children Sara, Ryan and Evan Green, and Levi Dvorsak:; sister Beverly Srigley; and brothers Elmer "Jerry," 1bm, MikeandDavidDlig.

Deceased are his grand­. daughter, Emily Green, two sisters and three brothers.

Neville St., Follansbee, W.Va., died Monday, May 30, 1994, in her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 10, 1906, in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late John and Julianna Pagaske.

She attended Follansbee Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sisters, Yolonne MacKenzie of Weirton, W.Va., and Julie Eden of Flushing, N.Y.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry lngler, in 1968, and two brothers, John and Arthur Pagaske.

Friends were received in the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, where services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Matilda G. "Tillie" Froats Ingram, 80, of Moon Town­ship, formerly of Burgett­stown, died unexpectedly

Thursday, June 26, 2014,inSe­wickley Hospital

She was born May 13, 1934, in Langeloth, a daugh­terofthe late Jose and Paci­ta Montequin.

Prior to retirement, she was employed by Petrucci's Grocery Store in Burgett­stown, the_n Filipponi's Gro­cery Store in Slovan. Later, she served as the Burgett­stown tax collector for 20 years . .

Mrs. Ingram was a mem­ber of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she· served as CCD coordinator, 2nd grade CCD teacher and eucharistic minister. She relocated to Moon Town­ship and became a mem­ber of St. Margaret Mary's Church.

On November 8, 1986, she married Bert Ingram, who died October 26, 2006.

Surviving are daugmers Theresa Cartier of Pitts­burgh, Salli (Jim) Comport of Bulger and Heidi (Mark) Howard of Salerp, Ky.; sons Roger (Diana) Froats of Imperial, Russell (Cindy) Froats of Las Vegas, Nev., Ronald (Chris) Froats of Warren, Ohio, and Regis (Karen) Froats of Medina, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her two sisters, Dolores Monteqnin and Elvira Gonzalez.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgett­stown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. John Sweeney, as celebrant Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Hospital emergency depart- ment

He was born April 6, 1925, in Beech Bottom, W.Va., a son of the late James Inman and Margaret CaldwelL

Mr. Inman attended St. John's Parish School in Wellsburg, W.Va., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

He was employed by Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for more than 40 years, retiring in 1990.

Mr. Inman was a 50-year member and past command-er of American Legion Bert C. Siders Post 643 of Avella.

He always enjoyed working , at the Independence Town-

ship election polls and bowl-ing.

Mr. Inman loved his Ameri-can Legion and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He had lived in Avella since 1946.

His first wife, Maria Lem-ley" died in 1887. By this union, fourchildren survive: Mrs. B. M. Cowell,wit.h whom he made his home;, Mrs.W~lliam Fox. of Kirby; John Isiming-131', of Washington, Ni~kols Isiminger"of Hanlin Station. Hd,s second wife,Maria Dowalson, died April 9, 1-932.By this union one daughter, Mrs.George Staley. of ,Cameron, W. Va.,survives. There are also 30 grand-children, 24 great-grandchildren, andtwo great-great-grandchildren. He wasa farmer and active attendant of Mt..Carmel church in Springhill township.He had vo.ted for President 19 times,casting his. first ballot in 1860. Funer-Ial sen-ices were held at the Cowellhome Sunday morning. Further ser-vices were held in the Mt. Carmelcemetery in Springhill township ~t!1: 30 p. m. Interment was in th~church cemetery.

widow of William B. Isiminger, of . Burgettstown, R. D. 4. died Wednesday, December 22, 1976, in Washington Hospital.

She was born September 27. 1892, in West Virginia, a daugh­ter of James and Hester Ann Postlethwaite Calvert.

Mrs. Isiminger was a mem­ber of - the Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Hazel Camp, Joffre, and Bessie, wife of Earl Meeks, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 37 great -grandchildren; and 14 great -great-grandchildren.

Friends were received in the Lee Funeral Home, where ser­vices were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Burial was in Grand­view Cemetery, Florence.

WILBERT D. ISIMINGER Wilbert D. lsiminger, 83, of 64 Old

York Road, Washington, died unexpectedy at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 1988, in the Washington Hos­pital Emergency Department.

He was born Jan. 13, 1905, in Washington, the son of Francis M. and Laura B. Meeks lsiminger.

He was a retired custodian for the Washington School District. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church, and was formerly a member of the West Washington United Methodist Church for 50 years.

Mr. lsiminger was a Scouter with the Lone Scouts and a member of its El Bee Tee Society of U.S. He was active in Boy Scouts for more than 30 years and held the Scouter's Key and Order of the Arrow.

He was also active in the following organizations: Masons, member of Sunset Lodge No. 623 F&AM, Jacques DeMolay No .. 3, Royal Arch Chapter No. 150, Coudersport Consistory and J.O.U.A.M. for 50 years; member of state and national Grange, and a member and executive committee­man of the Buffalo Grange; member and chaplain of National Lodge No. 81 I.O.O.F.; member of the B.P.O.E., No. 776 of Washington; member of the local AARP, the senior citizens center of Washington, tour director of the Washington Senior Citizens Club Li­brary Group; member National As­sociation of Retired Federal Em­ployees; member of the Duncan So­ciety; former civil defense policeman {Washington Auxiliary Police); and a member of the former Citizens Band Club of Washington.

He was married three times: On June 5, 1926, to Ina Mae Ferrell, who died Feb. 14, 1962; on Aug. 15, 1962, to Leone Hewitt, who died April 12, 1966; and on June 23, 1976, to Esther Craig, who survives, along with two sons, David M. lsiminger of Aiken, S.C., and Robert G. lsiminger of Murfreesboro, Tenn; one stepdaugh­ter, Della Gault of Rea; nine grand­children; three stepgran<fchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Deceased is one daughter, Elizabeth Sayre.

Friends were received in the Hummell and Barnhill Funeral Home, Washington, where services were held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. John B. Ledford, pastor of the First Christian Church of Washington, officiating. Interment was in Washing­ton Cemetery.

He was born June 1, 1938, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of ldah Israel of Weirton, W.Va., and the late lee Israel.

Surviving are a son, Rick Israel of Naples, Fla.; a granddaughter, April Israel; and two brothers, Everett Israel of Steubenville, Ohio, and Charles Israel of Weirton, W.Va.

Deceased is a brother, John Israel.

He was employed as a blaster for the Bologna Coal Company. He was a member of UMW Local 7732, District 5, and he was a veteran of World War II, having served with the u. s. NavY.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Clara Macugoski Ivanac; three sons, Charles A. Ivanac, of Burgettstown, and Gerald Ivanac, of Burgettstown, R. D. 2; one daughter, Sharlene, wife of Gerald Ford, of Holland, Michigan; two sisters, Fran­ces Sheriff, of Chicago, illinois, and Nancy Leis, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; and four grandchildren.

Friends were received in the Hayden Funeral Home, where services were held Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jane Myers officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Follansbee, West Virginia.

Mrs. Jackson was mar­ried June 2, 1920, in Mid­way, to Robert Jackson~ who survives. She was a member of the M i d way Baptist Church and was employed by the Pennsyl­vania Railroad Company before her. retirement.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Jacob (Jay) J acksonp of ·Chicago, Illinois, and Ver­non Jackson, of ·Weirton; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Dillon, of Clarion; Miss Martha Rohde,· of Midway; Mrs. Minnie Cox, of Canonsburg; and Mrs. Ola W indsheimer, of .Midway; eight grandcbi~dren and one great-grandchild.

Mr . .Jackson retired Feb. 1, from the Weirton Steel Co.. where he had been employed as a foreman in the machine shop. He recently received his 35-ycar pin for tSer· vice >vith iJhe con:n.pany.

He was born, Oct. 27, 1890, in Hackeny, Ohio, and had resided in Weirton for the last 56 years. Pre­vious to that time he was a resi­dent of Florence. He was a mem­ber of the Christian church of Weirton; the 25-Year Club of Weirton Steel; Lodge 22, A.F. & A.M. of New Cumberland, and the Pittsburgh Steel City Region of the Sportcar Club of America.

Mr. Jackson was married to Ruth Keefer in Weirton, l'viay 20, 1914.

He leaves his widow; a daugh-

Josephine Jacobs 1919-2018

Josephine "Pepa" Ja­cobs, 98, of Lange­loth, passed away Sun­day eve­ning, June

3, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

She was born July 11, 1919, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jesus and Dolores ''Lola" Gonza­lez.

A 1937 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she retired from ACE Reconditioning in Washington, where she worked on the Pittsburgh Steelers uniforms and equipment for many years.

Josephine was a life­long member of Langeloth Community Presbyterian Church. She was known for her skills as a baker, espe­cially pies and cookies that warranted blue ribbons. In addition to baking, she was an avid seamstress who loved dolls. Not only did she collect dolls, but she sold them within the tri­state area.

Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Jacobs and wife Nancy of Washington andRobinJacobsand wife Denise of Oeveland, Ohio; a granddaughter, Victoria; and many nieces and neph­ews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Jake" Jacobs; six brothers, Buff, Beanie, Pete, Buzz, Pin and Corky, and four sisters, Jane, Mary, Catherine and Anita.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, Friday, June 8, in Lee & Martin Fu­neral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.

Born April 6, 1916 in Coalton, W.Va., he was a son of Thomas and Naomi Hunt Jaggie.

He spent his early life in West Virginia and had resided in Greene County since 1952.

Mr. Jaggie was a former coal miner, having worked for various

, companies. He retired from Mt. Morris Tire Service after 10 years of service.

His wife, Tiney May Bennett Jaggie, died Nov. 8, 1977.

Philip A ''Bud" James, 84, a lifelong resident of McDon­ald, died peacefully surround­ed by his family Wednesday, December26, 2018.

He was born March 20, 1934, in McDonald, a son of the late William and Mildred Beck James.

Mr. James retired from Woodville State Hospital in 1991, after more than 30 years of service. He also worked at the former Mo­bil Gas Station, the former Masquelier Ford and Mc­Donald Ford dealerships.

He spent his life helping friends fix their cars and helping them with anything else they might need. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes.

On August 25, 1960, he married Patricia Ann Gro­hoski, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Walter James of McDonald; three daughters, Jackie (Jim) Stewart of Orrington, Maine, Jill (the late Jack) Ducore of Carrick and Thmmy (Jim) McGuire of Ross Thwnship; two sisters, Edith (the late Dale)PruseandEisie(thelate Gilbert) Kovach, both of Mc­Donald; and two grandsons that were his pride and joy, Aidenand DeclanMcGuire.

Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Mercedes McCal­lister; four sons, Gage Thomas Boyer,JacobGarrettBlakeley and Bryan Austin and David Andrew Jeffers; three broth­ers, Robert Camp and wife Christy, Billy camp and Don­ald Boyer and wife Erin; a sis­ter, Bernadette Blakeley and husband Scott; a sister-in-law, Christiana Jeffers; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Lee & Martin Fu­neral Home, 73HjgblandAv­enue, Burgettstown, where services will beheld at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, with Pastor Gary C. Lilly officiat­ing. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Flor­ence.

She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Canonsburg and the Christian Mothers and Guild.

Before retiring in 1983, she was employed as cafeteria manager for many years at St. Patrick School.

She was a member of the United Women's Association.

On Dec. 6, 1945, she married Joseph Jindra, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Brower of Houston, Mary Jo Jindra of Bridgeville and Julie M. Jindra of Canonsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Pauline} Durkacs of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. George (Dorothy) Chechuck of Burgettstown and Helen Doubnich of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews.

Naomi Johnston Naomi Johnston, 80, formerly of

Cross Creek Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Cross Creek, a daughter of the late Edwin and Vinnie Leeper Johnston.

Miss Johnston had been

employed by Thrift Drug Stores on the North Side of Pittsburgh before her retirement. She was a member of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, _ Laura Johnston of Cross Creek; two nephews; and four grand­nieces.

Her brother, William E. Johnston, died in 1983.

Services were held at the family's convenience. Arrangements were handled by the Lee and Martin Funeral Home.

Ohio, formerly of the Avella area, died Monday, March 4, 1985, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio.

She was born Feb. 15, 1910, in Valley Grove, West Virginia, a daugh­ter of Henry K. and Berdie M. Arm­strong. She was a member of a Presbyterian church in Corning.

Surviving are her husband, George W. Johnston, whom she mar­ried Oct. 28, 1928; one daughter, Ella May Covelle of New Lexington, Ohio; two grandchildren. Mrs. Larry Wiatt of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charles Covelle of Glouster, Ohio; two brothers. Harry Armstrong of Avella and Charles Arm­strong of Washington; three sisters, Vioia Krape and Hazel Cobb, both of Saganaw, Michigan, and Isabelle Petrocelle of Meadow Lands; and six great-grandchildren.

One brother, John Armstrong, and one sister, Mary Armstrong, are de­ceased.

On Oct. 17, 1931, she married Albert Jones, who died Oct. 15, 1991.

Surviving are four sons, Albert C. Jones of Washington, Robert Jones of Slovan, Kenneth Jones of Clinton and William Jones of Langeloth; two daughters, Mrs. John (Doris) Miller of Kent, Wash., and Mrs. David (Carol) Barvinski of Wilkes-Barre; one sister,· Mrs. Howard (UI) Thornton of Oakmont; 26 grandchildren; and 13 great­grandchildren.

He was born April16, 1921, in Wellsburg, a son of the late David C. and Alice Martha Williams Jones.

He was married to Mary Ellen Swonger Jones, who survives.

Mr. Jones was retired from Jerry Spear Chevrolet and was the former owner-operator of Jones Wrecker Service in Wellsburg.

He was a Protestant by faith, an Army veteran of World War II, a life member of Post 34 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wellsburg, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 in Weirton.

In addition to his wife, surviving are four sons, Ronald Webb of Steubenville, Ohio; David B. Jones of Mineral City, Ohio; James Jones of Avella; and Larry Jones of Wellsburg; three daughters, Eleanor Chapline of Niles, Ohio; Beverly McAdams of Wellsburg; and Janice VanSlyke of Cleveland, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Williard Jones, in 1946, and a brother, William.

Friends were received in the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, where services were held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Beard officiating. Private interment was held.

Following an operation at the Mercy ho.spital in Pittsburg, David G. Jon.es, resident of Canonsburg, died Saturday afternoon. Mr. Jones at the time of his death was one of thelargest coal producers in the cpuntry. He was 43 years of age and h~s for some time been general manager and secretary-treasurer of the Pittsburgh-Buffalo Coal com­pany, be~ides being a large holder in many of the largest coal com­panies in the Eastern part of the country. He was a director in sev­eral banks and trust companies i'ri the Pittsburgh district.

Mr. Jones was :married to Miss Mary Ann Feehan, of Monongahela, who survives. · .He is ·also survived by the following brothers ·and sis­ters: John H. Jones, of Pitts.burgh, Thomas P. A veteran of the U.S. Anny Reserve, Mr. Jones worked for 1 Richman Co. in washing­ton and retired from All-Clad Metalcrafters in Canonsburg.

He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pi­rates. He enjoyed playing soft­ball, bowling and, most of all, spending time with his family and his dog, Bubbet

Surviving are four children, RobertP. Mr. Jones was a member of the Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

For 31 years, he had been em­ployed with B.F. Drakenfield in the lab.

He was a graduate of Trinity High School, Class of 1932.

On June 1, 1937, he married Mildred Liggett, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Robert Wray Jones of Avella R.D. 1; three daughters, Mrs. James C. (Barbara Ann) Roupe of Washington, R.D. 1; Nancy E. Zrimm of Avella, A.D. 1; and Mrs. larry (Saundra Louise) Kandros of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one brother, Robert Earl Jones of West Middletown; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
