Entrepreneurship: The Untold Story
Our objective was to make successful
Entrepreneurs engage with students
by giving personal insights into the
journey of an Entrepreneur. We
wanted to infuse the “Pioneering
Spirit” in the minds of our fellow
students, by creating a platform in
which successful entrepreneurs would
inspire students through the
transmission of insightful
professional and personal experience.
The Entrepreneurs covered a large
range of topics, including what
motivated them to engage into this
unique path, the issues and challenges
they have faced since the beginning of
their entrepreneurial journey, and how being an entrepreneur impacted them as
human beings. Addressing the “Untold Story” of Entrepreneurship made this
event unique, as our attendees got to discover what such a career path really
entails.

The first debate oninnovation in ESSECAsia-Pacific
Let's Debate at Singap' is an event that took place on
December 16, 2016 on ESSEC Campus in Singapore. The
event started with a crossed interview between a HR
manager at Google, Benjamin Moris, and the responsible of
Growth Hacking Asia for Singapore, Annette Lim, who
shared about their job and their vision of the future.
Then came a debate between 8 students from different
programs at ESSEC (MSc in Management, SMIB, BBA) to
share their views about the opportunities and the threats of
Artificial Intelligence in our future society. Will they take
the power, or will they give back time to think or create to
citizens? Will AI be as glamorous as Samantha in Spike
Jonze's Her, as smart as Jarvis in Iron Man or will they take
the power as HAL9000 in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SpaceOdyssey?
All along the conference-debate, the audience has been
given the possibility to react, ask questions, answer to polls
thanks to a wall of messages.
The event was followed by a buffet, thanks to Quartier.SG,
where students, guests and debaters were able to continue
the discussion and open the debate.
hosted by Olympio Barthélemy, Benjamin Boscher, AndrésMoreno-Torres Taboada, Aline Nguy, Huixuan Peng,Alexandre Person, Fangting Zhu

Willing to organize an event on campus for our third JCE project, we noticed that the students of ESSEC Asia-Pacific were eager to know more about really “made” Singapore. We so decided to organize a series of talk related to different cultural aspects of Singapore: religion, music, food… The idea was to allow students to take a fresh look on Singapore with an innovative concept of short twenty-minute talks, allowing students to “discover Singapore in two hours”.
