D.C.

Sometimes I think we are too much in a hurry to really express our love for God. I dont advocate overly lengthy songs and prayers, but Naÿaumele is certainly an example of an overt and leisurely expression of song-filled affection for the God who gently saves. The antiphon literally asks us to sing un-impatiently, either in straight or swing eighths. By contrast the verses get to the point with an assertive and confident chalangalang strum . Melenaÿau is my ÿölelo Hawaiÿi way of saying musical soul.

[10C] Lord, you have the power to forgive sin, | great is the mercy you show all.12. [11C] You who follow me must deny yourselves, | take up your cross and follow me.

For Ordinary Time Cpart 2: summer/fall12. [12C]You who follow me must deny yourselves,| take up your cross and follow me.13. [13C] Speak, Lord, your servant is listening; you have the words of eternal life.14. [14C] Let the peace of Christ control your hearts; | let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. 15. [15C] Your words, O Lord, are spirit and life, | you have the words of eternal life.16. [16C] Blessed are you who keep the word with a generous heart | and yield a harvest through perseverance.17. [17C] You have received a spirit of adoption. | through which we cry Abba, Father.18. [18C] Blessed are the poor in spirit, | theirs is the kingdom of heaven.19. [19C] Stay awake, be ready! | You not know when the Son of Man will come.20. [20C] My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; | I know them, and they follow me.21. [21C] I am the way, the truth, and the life, says the Lord; | no one comes to the Father, except through me.22. [22C] Take my yoke upon you, says the Lord, and learn from me, | for I am meek and humble of heart.23. [23C] Let your face shine upon your servant; | teach me your laws.24. [24C] God reconciled the world to himself in Christ, | and entrusted to us the message of reconciliation. 25. [25C] The Lord Jesus Christ was rich, and became poor, | so that by his poverty you might become rich.26. [26C] The Lord Jesus Christ was rich, and became poor, | so that by his poverty you might become rich.27. [27C] The word of the Lord remains for ever. | This is the word that has been proclaimed to you.28. [28C] In all occasions give thanks, | this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.29. [29C] The Word of God is living and effective: | probing and knowing the thoughts of all hearts30. [30C] God reconciled the world to himself in Christ, | and entrusted to us the message of reconciliation.

35. [Jun24] You child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; | you will go before the Lord to prepare his way.36. [Aug6] This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased; | listen to him. 37. [Aug15] Blessed are they who hear the word of God | blessed are they who keep it.

Or Mary is taken up to heaven; | a chorus of angels exults.38. [Sep8] Happy are you, holy Virgin Mary, deserving of all praise; | from you arose the sun of justice, Christ the Lord.39. [Sep14] We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you, | because by your cross you ave redeemed the world.40. [Nov 1] Come to me you who labor and are burdened, | And I will give you rest says the Lord.41. [Nov9] I have chosen and sanctified this house, says the Lord, | that my name may remain in it for all time.42. [Tday] In all things give thanks, such is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.
