BIBLE STUDY: Psalms: The School of Prayer At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us learn to pray. The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. These sacred hymns become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds for us. Their words captivate the imagination and draw us into a deeply personal encounter with God. Join us for Psalms: The School of Prayer at St. Bernadette’s Parish at 22 Bayly St., E, Ajax beginning Wed Sept 12 (9:30 am) or Fri Sept 14 (7:00 pm and continuing for 11 weeks. For more information or to register for the study, call, call Renate at 905-686-0745 or Michelle at 905-686-3259 or [email protected] I would like to extend my gratitude to the Holy Redeemer Parish family as I leave my tenure as Principal of Father Fénelon Catholic School. It is hard to comprehend that it has been 5 years since we amalgamated the two historic school communities. The mountain seemed high, but collectively we climbed it with ease as we pulled together to build a faith-filled school. Today we stand united as one proud Catholic school community. Thank you to the staff of the school for instilling in the children a love of learning through the lens of Christ and teaching that is relevant and progressive. Father Colman was instrumental in the creation of our young school community. I would like to thank him for being so generous and kind to all of us. A big thank you to Dorothea Ritchie and Bianca and all the support staff of the Church as well for their support of the faith development of our students. A special thank you to the Catholic Women’s Guild and Knights of Columbus for always assisting the school when the need arose. We have established an exemplary model of the ideal link between school and parish. I have been blessed to be a small part of this journey with you and will keep the Parish and school community in my prayers. - Mike O’Neill, Principal, Father Fénelon Catholic School SERVE AS AN ALTAR SERVER Children who have made their 1st Communion (Grade 2 and above) are invited to become Altar Servers.
