DIVERSE VIBRANT COLLABORATIVE
OUR TECH CITY
Summary
Why It’s Needed
Birmingham is the youngest city in Europe yet it produces the most inventions per year, with nearly 65% registered from the Birmingham area. Not to mention Birmingham has nearly 6,000 tech companies employing a diverse workforce of over 38,000 people – our city is home to some serious talent.
However, we aren’t shouting loud enough and celebrating what we are achieving. Furthermore, we talk a lot about collaboration but this is rarely seen. Birmingham Tech will aim to address this and act as a catalyst for future growth, collaboration and investment.
● Encourage more investment in the City and the tech companies that operate within it.
● Ensure talented people want to stay and flourish in Birmingham as well as encouraging people from outside the City to choose Birmingham as their home.
● Help businesses to scale through innovation, insight and collaboration.
● Give young people the opportunity to understand all the possibilities tech in Birmingham has to offer.
● Highlight Birmingham’s tech businesses and give people the opportunity to showcase their success.
