Sixth Form Activities Dear Parent or Carer As part of the academy’s continued drive to achieving outstanding school status, we are constantly updating and adding more activities to our extensive Enrichment and Study Club Programme. The number of weekly activities timetabled before, during and after school now exceeds 90, with a large proportion of students staying behind after school on a regular basis. The Enrichment and Study Club Programme aims to give students a positive school experience by providing enjoyable activities that they will be able to look back on in later life with a smile. We ask students to keep themselves informed of any changes to the activities by regularly visiting our Enrichment Wall in the main student entrance. Parents and pupils can find descriptions of each activity and keep abreast of programme changes by following the link to the academy website at www.stockport-academy.org and clicking on ‘Students.’ The Enrichment and Study Club programme is constantly evolving and as an academy we are always looking for new ideas from parents or students. If you would like to have a greater say in the activities currently being offered then please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] We will also be launching an online Enrichment and Study Club survey which can be accessed by going to http://svy.mk/yglWUS. Please spend a short time completing the survey as the information is invaluable in driving our programme and the acad- emy forward towards outstanding. Reward Scheme Since its launch in September, over 50% of our students are regularly staying behind at the end of the academy day to participate in the many activities on offer. Nevertheless, we would like to see more students enrolled onto our programme and from Monday 16th January, students will be able to collect ‘Enrichment Points’ for regular attendance to enrichment activities. If a student collects more than 20 points this term, they will be entitled to go on a trip to Alton Towers planned for Friday 30th March. An enrichment log book will be issued to all students so they may record their attendance – please tell your son or daughter to keep theirs safe as lost points cannot be replaced! In addition, students will be able to gain extra points by enrolling friends into their favourite activities. The reward programme will also be closely linked to attendance. Many thanks for your continued support and I look forward to possibly hearing from you soon.
