Super scientist Club Activity
Topic – Tornado in a bottle
Class – II Date: 24.08.18
Tornadoes fascinate kids of all ages. Most of us have
seen the fast moving funnel-shaped clouds on television
and movies too. To make learners understand what a
tornado is, and to make them understand about the
reasons behind its formation and damages caused by it.
An activity was conducted for the learners of Grade II
to teach them how tornadoes work and how they are
formed. The learners made a tornado of their own. First
they watched a video based on the formation of a
tornado. Then with the help of two bottles, liquid dish
wash soap and a few pinches of glitter, they made their
own tornado in a bottle. The kids were very excited
while doing this activity and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Each time they would create the tornado in the bottle
they would shout with happiness and excitement. They
clapped for their peers and appreciated each other’s
efforts too.
