    1. Components of petroleum systems

    engineering

An investment company wants to come to

Saskatchewan to invest in the oil and gas

industry. This companys objective is to

become a small/median size oil company with

a daily oil production of 10,000bbl/day. In

order to be successful, what this investment

    company should do?

    A typical pressure profile

    o The pressure drop

    around the wellbore is

    significant!

    o the pressure drop will

    be larger if the

    formation is damaged!

    o matrix acidizing or

    fracturing are performed

    to reduce the pressure

    drop around the

    wellbore!

o There have any other problems associated with sandface:

    wellbore stability

    Sand production

    multiple zone isolation!

Therefore, we need technologies to solve those problems.

    This is called well completion.
