The dark night casted a hooded shadow against the windowsill of the C ward as the cold air creeped up the walls of the hospital in the hospital as the rain pelted heavily against the misty window surface,it was freezing. The rough touch of the fabric of the inclined bed made the old patients fragile body feels cocooned by soft thickly woven fabric. The smell of sweaty air around them was reeked with fear and desperation when combined with the heavy breathing and constant mumbling and muttering of the patients. The gentle voice of the nurses caring tone travelled to the ears of the patient waking her up to take her medicine which was syrupy, cold and bitter. At that point of time when the nurse heard an unexpected whisper from the patient that rarely spoke ,she then noticed that the pitter pattering of the rain was scaring the patients. She then pulled the curtain string and the curtains fell neatly into place, softening the noise of the resounding thunder and dimming the bright lighting and a reasurring feeling then fell upon the patient.
