Turn Your Table Into Paragraphs
The poems, Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson and Bayonet Charge by Hughes both deal with the idea of warfare in the form of a ‘charge’ on the battle field. The poetic voices in each of the poems however, are very different. Whilst Tennyson’s poem is from the point of view of a third party, removed poetic voice who looks back on the event as a moment in history, the poetic voice in Hughes’ Bayonet Charge is quite conversely, that of one of the soldiers and what he is experiencing on the battleground as it is happening.
