Each and every one of our activities now, even sleeping , is interrupted by our need to stay online. This phenomenon is so widespread that there is a relevant syndrome called nomophobia . The fear of being without a cellphone.

According to research , among which the one of the university of Harvard , our favorite gadgets are keeping us awake by their blue light that confuses our melatonin , which makes us feel sleepy. According to another research , 66% of people sleep with their phones and most of them snooze or have interrupted sleep.

We have all experienced it. All around a table and everyone using their smartphone. There is a new term about this : phubbing , snubbing your discussant by paying more attention to a phone. ‘Smartphones are killing our society’ recently wrote the e-magazine Techepublic.

The heightened use of smartphones seems to be leading to weak memory. We never try to remember anything anymore. At an experiment carried out at USA , people aged 70 years old heard a story and then were asked to recall it. Meanwhile half of them were let to relax for 10 minutes and the others played games online.
