Compare EssayThere seems to be a lot of superheroes in movie history. There are various type of

superpower and abilities which they possessed. We envy and look up to them because

they are the type of ideal human being. Captain America and Wolverine are one of the

main figure of superheroes in Marvel comic. They both are originally ordinary man

which mutated to superhero and fought for their closest people. The plot, ability, moral

value, and relationship are the point of view for me to determine which one of them is the

real superhero in my heart.

From the film of Captain America, the plot setting in 1942, Steve Rogers was

rejected yet again for military service. Erskine, a scientist found him for an experiment

called Secret Project Rebirth by injecting the Super Soldier Serum. After that, Roger had

become a propaganda tool, called ‘Captain America’ until he found that Barnes is

captured. He crossed enemy lines to get him back. Barnes fell from the mountain top

during a train battle but in fact is he is still alive. The Red Skull was defeated and Captain

America crash plane into the Arctic and declared missing. However, his body was kept

alive for decades until he was found in the modern day. (Steve Rogers, 2014). The

Wolverine plot setting took place in 1832, James Howlett, called Logan is sentenced to

death but did not die when he was shot. This incident brought them Maj.William Styker’s

attention, who asked them to join a special team of mutants that he was assembling. 6

years later, He was living as a lumberjack with his girlfriend named Kayla. Kayla is

murdered by Logan’s brother. Styker offered Logan an experiment called Weapon-X, by

injecting Adamantium to encase body skeleton. Logan found the location of the mutant

experimentation center. He discovered that Kayla is alive and defeated Victor. He freed a

number of imprisoned mutant and defeated Deadpool, Logan was shot in his head by an

Adamantium bullet. When he recovered, he recalled nothing about his past. (James

Howlett, 2014)

Steve Roger’s body has been mutated to the pinnacle of human perfection. He

possesses superhuman strength, agility, endurance, speed, and reflexes superior to any

Olympic-level athlete, and his bodily functions have been enhanced to the peak of human

efficiency. His metabolism is four times faster than normal human. His personal weapon

is a virtually indestructible shield which was forged from unique Vibranium-steel alloy.

The shield can rebound off all solid object with the minimal loss of angular motion. The

only way it can be damaged is by the direct breakdown of its molecular bonding.

(Captain America (Steve Rogers), 2014). His is an expert of hand-to-hand combatant and

he is a skilled martial artist. On the same hand, James Howlett had a mutation and

discovered that he has a pair bone claws. However, his skeletal system has been injected

by Adamantium. The Adamantium enhanced his ability of superhuman reflexes and

senses, his smell senses allowed him to track and detect anomalies in the air, and hearing.

His regenerative healing factor that is immune to all disease, major poison and is able to

regrow limbs. He mutated into an indestructible body and his weapon, bone claw had

evolved into a pair of Adamantium retractable claws. Wolverine is also an excellent

fighter with experience in fighting against various cage-fighter.

Steve Roger has always had a noble and honest spirit, intolerance towards

injustice and abuse of power. Since he was formerly weak and small, he has learned on

his own what the true strength is, and vowed to protect defenseless. He is a proud

American patriot, always wearing his American flag theme military uniform to show

loyalty to his country. He remained his original spirit and character even in his new body

shape. James Howlett is a superhero with sympathy, a major strength of his strength of

his character is that he is constantly being ripped away from everything that makes him

human, he still retain it. He always stop his brother from crime and control his temper to

be kind. This implies that he has a naturally strong sense of humanity, something that is

often innate and prompted by those with high self-awareness. He also showed strong

loyalty to his deemed friends. (Bio- Wolverine, 2014)

In Captain America, Barnes is the only buddy of Steve during his childhood.

Barnes always helped Steve from being beaten up by a bullies because he was weak.

After missing for many years, Steve found Barnes but he became one of the biggest

enemy of him, The Winter Soldier. In Wolverine, Victor is the half-brother of Logan and

they stuck together and supported each other in the world war. But after few years, Victor

killed Logan’s girlfriend and became enemy, Sabretooth. Logan swore to take revenge

towards him. Besides, Red Skull is the original enemy of Steve Rogers. The both of them

are from the same experimental product that were injected by super soldier serum, but

Red skull had betrayed the professor and ran away. The reason why they couldn’t defeat

each other was because both of them possesses the same abilities. Deadpool, which is

also the main enemy of Logan. Deadpool had undergo transformation process and had

received various types of mutant’s abilities as well as Logan’s ability. Logan was unable

defeat him but Victor helped Logan to defeat Deadpool at the end.

Based on two films, Captain America and Wolverine. I would more prefer

Captain America over Wolverine, because he is a patriotic man that love to his country.

He volunteer to sacrifice his body for the government to undergo experiment that could

cost one’s life. He was formerly weak and always been bullied, so he has learned on what

the true strength is. Hence, this is the reason why I prefer Captain America.
