•  A Teacher Pla@orm •  Teachers can create classes, assign students to classes, assign content

units to classes, track student acDvity, and communicate with the class

•  Discounted Student SubscripDon •  Independent Teachers can suggest that their Learners subscribe to

English A,ack using the Independent Teacher’s special Learner code. This enDtles them to a 25% educaDonal discount on the normal Booster Pass subscripDon prices.

Once you have created an account on English A,ack! and purchased an Independent Teacher Booster Pass, or entered a demo code

giving you trial access to the Independent Teacher role, your starDng point is the site Home Page, and specifically the My School tab that

you will now see in the main navigaDon bar of every page.

To get started in your Teacher role, click on My School

The next step is to invite your learners to be in your class. Distribute this code to as many learners as you want, asking them to use it when crea>ng a

User Account on English A,ack! Using this code will enable them to purchase a

Booster Pass (required for them to have access to your classes) at a special 25% Educa>onal

Discount.

Invi>ng Learners

As your learners create User Accounts with your Code, they will appear in the My Students view (they will not be able to do assignments however un9l they

purchase a Booster Pass)


Learners having using your Code will automa>cally see the

Discounted Price Plan instead of the normal rates.

Crea>ng Classes

Once you have created a roster of invited Learners, you can start to

create classes.

The class “Intermediate English” has now been created. Click on it to assign Learners to it from your

Learner roster.


From the Class Page, select “Students”


You can now add students to this class.


Simply click next to each Student to add them to this class, and be sure to click on

“Apply” when you are done. Students can be assigned to

mulDple classes.

If you don’t recognize

your Learners’ usernames, you can search for individual

learners by e-‐mail address, first name, or last name.

Adding / Removing Students to or from a Class

Assigning Content Units To A Class

Go to the main Video Booster or Photo Vocab page and

browse content pages to find the content units you want to assign to your Class

You wish to assign this Video Booster to one

of your Classes:

Assign To Class


Choose the class or classes to which you want to

assign this Content Unit (the same unit can be assigned to mul2ple

classes)

Click on SUBMIT


Managing your Assignments

You can choose how to

communicate the assignment to the class, and make assignment

comments, here.

The next Dme you click on this Class, you will see the added

Content Unit. You can add as many Content

Units to a class assignment as you

want.


When the deadline for this assignment has passed and you want to assign new content, clear old assignment (it will be stored in “Past Assignments”) and start new

assignment.

Checking Assignment Compliance & Scores

For each Content Unit assigned, you can see who in the class has

completed it, and what score they obtained.


Viewing Students’ Ac>vity Stream

Selected Class

AcDviDes Tab

All acDvity on the site by students in your Classes, most recent

first. You can

comment on the acDvity for each item; this will be visible

to the Students on this same wall.


Class Message Boards

Selected Class

Message Boards are class-‐specific.

Anyone in the class, as well as the

Teacher, can iniDate a discussion or

respond to a new thread.

Student’s View: GeDng Started

This user is one of your Students.

He or she has created an

account using the Code given by you.

You have assigned him or her to one of your Classes.


As for a Teacher, the Student’s starDng point is the site Home Page, and specifically the My

School Tab in the main navigaDon bar of every page.

Switching from Independent Teacher to affiliated PRO Teacher

•  If at any point you want to switch yourself (and your learners) from an Independent Teacher license to a PRO mulD-‐user license for your educaDonal organizaDon, paid for by the organizaDon, contact us at schools@english-‐a,ack.com

•  You will retain your created Classes, registered Learners and Class AcDvity

histories on the site, as will your learners. All Teacher Tools and Student Views will conDnue to work as before.
