TRANSPORTATION

SOLAR BULLET TRAIN• The quest for more efficient transport systems doesn't necessarily

have to come at the cost of speed.

• The Solar Bullet train is aiming to bring high-speed trains to use on

tracks equipped with solar panel carrying canopies.

• It will provide the 110 megawatts of electricity that the system

needs to run.

• It will be fast, safe, less pollution and save a lot of energy

resources.

magnetic train• Uses a magnetic force lifts and propels the train using a minimal

amount of energy compared to diesel-powered or electric-powered

trains.

• The trains whisk passengers along at up to 310 miles per hour.

• A planned magnetic train will transport passengers over 200 miles

in just 40 minutes.

• Reduce air pollution, accidents and reduce congested roads.

MOVABLE PODS• A moving pod which fits three or more person per pod around the city will

take you into small alleys and road.

• The idea is that the human operator interacts with the pod using a

touchscreen in the windshield.

• You swipe to select a destination, and you can read the daily news, check

your e-mail or even play a video game during the trip.

• There will be pods station everywhere in the city, all you have to do is rent

want and go to your destination, the pod will return itself back to the station.

hover vehicles• Water routes for vehicles that hover to travel.

• This is to prevent car jam and lessen the risk of accidents. In other thought, it

can also be a time saving issue.

• Water routes are built between towns and connect all the towns in the city.

Reaching another city within short period of time.

• Water traffics and smart cameras are installed to detect misbehaviours of the

drivers.

• Chip installed in cars will automatically chase after these misbehaved drivers.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

solar powered buildings• Solar panel will consume the solar energy and turn them into

electric and run the whole building.

• The solar energy is supported by the micro wind turbine which is on

top of the buildings.

• The wind turbine will turn when there is wind consuming the kinetic

energy into electric, with both power sources the building will light

up on its own.

smart power source switcher

• Building will shut down most places in the building during night

time leaving only some places with electric energy and will be

switched on again during day time.

• Smart meter will be placed outside buildings to adjust the electric

use for lighting based on the lighting outside, when it is dark outside

the light will become brighter, when it is bright outside, it will

became softer light.

• The whole air system also based on the temperature outside to

help prevent energy wasting.

disaster drones• Drone can be use in disaster relief efforts including for

reconnaissance and mapping, structural assessment, temporary

infrastructure/supply delivery, detection and extinguishing of

wildfires, high-rise building fire response, assisting in a chemical,

biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive event, search and rescue

operations, insurance claims response and risk assessment, and

logistics support.

• In addition to being cost effective and easy to deploy, drone

technology can reduce the exposure of first responders to

unnecessary danger and provide unique viewing angles not possible

from manned aircraft.

water disaster• An aerodynamic shape thick mirror is coating the boundaries of the whole city to prevent tsunami

from attacking the city.

• When tsunami attacks, the edge of the wall will cut off the forces of the tsunami and reduce the

(pressure acting on the coating) risk of destruction.

• Oxygen is supplied from the underground via the pipe ways connected to the outer protection. The

pipes also have filtration method.

• In order to prevent flood, underground tunnels are invented. When water overflow, water will flow

into the underground tunnel and forced back out to the sea.

• When there is no sign of flood occurring, the tunnels will function as smart tunnels for

transportations. In each of the streams, drains and damps within the city, flood guards are set up to

increase the limit of water raise. This can reduce the risk of water overflow.

quake resistant buildings• Quake resistant building concept is applied to all the structural

building within this city. As known, earthquake could not be

prevented, it can only be controlled and reduce the risk of damage.

• Quake resistant building is introduced to prevent the risk of

building from collapsing. It reduces the shock of earthquakes and

maintains the standing structure.

• A huge self-sustaining ship is built to face this problem. When

earthquake is not under control, all the citizens will move to the ship

and travel to a further area.

water & waste management

waste management • Reuse and recycle all of the waste. Nothing at all will be wasted.

• Used plastic are washed in specially designed machines and later on are redesigned into some

other form of plastic that can be reused.

• Metal and glass will all be recycle.

• Sources of toxic waste will either be recycled or turned into some source of energy.

• The city will have waste factories rather than landfills.

• It will be mandatory for all the people in the city to compost the food waste.

• Carbon dioxide are stored and will be release outside of the city to reduce the amount of C02.

Page 27: English Assignment 2: Future City Oral Presentation

waste collection • The city will have an underground automated waste conveying

system.

BENEFITS OF UNDERGROUND WASTE COLLECTION :-

• Notable long-term cost savings.

• No waste trucks are needed to collect waste.

• Fuel and vehicle cost savings.

• Less fuel emissions.

• Reduced C02 emissions.

water management

• Set up systematic drainage systems.

• Use solar powered water pumps.

• Rain water harvesting to reduce the usage of tap water for activities.

• Excess carbon dioxide are stored underground to reduce the amount

of CO2 in the air.

• Develop a way to turn sea water into drinking water to have unlimited

source of drinkable water.

road guidance

• Emergency road guidance system which turns all roads into specific

colour coding to guide and help people of Ultra City.

• This will not only help them to focus more on th
