A Sweet Place to Be In Little ItalyDarla’s Snack Shoppe: 54 Millhousen Street

The desserts at Darla’s Snack Shoppe in Little Italy appearsimple, but their flavors have remarkable depth. Darla's isknown best for its range of fruit pies, including apple, blueberry, and peach, and the reputation is well deserved. The fruits are harvested from local organic farmers, and thepies are served warm with fresh homemade vanilla icecream made with real vanilla beans. A host of other sweetsincluding brownies and cookies, can be found on theshelves, offering something for any sweets lover. The shop isboth clean and tidy. Despite having limited space and morecustomers than can fit inside at one time, the staff membersgreeted me with smiles as warm as the pies they servethere. I would thoroughly recommend Darla's Snack Shoppeto anyone with a sweet tooth. I know I'll certainly bereturning soon. Four Stars!

A Great Greek Restaurant for Oppa!Kalamata Greek Restaurant in Vancouver

The Kalamata Greek Restaurant, near the corner of Cambie andBroadway in Vancouver’s North end, is a favorite long-standinghome of Greek-style cuisine in this city. My family loves to eat themany dishes, including souvlaki, humus, and moussaka. To judge aGreek restaurant, the quality of the calamari is most important andat Kalamata the quality is excellent. The batter is light, the herbspicing perfect, and the deep frying is just right. Be careful, however, because the servings are huge, so don’t order too muchfood! The service is quite good overall, but the servers cansometimes be busy and getting the bill requires some patience. Asfar as ambiance is concerned, the restaurant is very clean, though abit noisy due to the hardwood floors. As a family man, this place iswonderful as it is relatively inexpensive. My family of four usuallycosts about $50, including house wine. And, like your typical Greekfamily, this place has had the foresight to accommodate largegroups of people (twelve to fourteen is okay!). A great diningexperience! Four stars!

A View Worth Every Penny!Having Dinner at The Riverside Steakhouse: 23 Brant Street

Nestled in besides the banks of the Thames River, The Riverside Steakhouse lives up to its reputation! It was lovely sitting outside and looking over the river. The restaurant made good use of lanterns and the fairy lights they hung everywhere looked very pretty reflecting off of the water. The food was good but nothing original. I had steak for my main course which was a little overcooked and tasted of charcoal but my dessert was delicious. It was homemade cookies hot from the over topped with melting ice cream of my choice! The cookies were still gooey and the texture was amazing when mixed with melting vanilla ice cream on top. The service was okay and although we never had to wait long for our food our waiter did not once look happy! It is quite an expensive place but for the view I think it is well worth the money!
