Civil Engineering:Civil Engineering:Core TasksCore Tasks

• Use math and science to decide if structure designs are possible and safe

• Estimate numbers and costs of materials, equipment, and labor needed for their projects

• Prepare reports on project issues

Civil Engineering:Civil Engineering:EarningsEarnings

• Civil Engineers make about $50,000 to $118,000 a year.

• Civil Engineer’s salary depends on their level of education

• The economy directly affects their salary

Civil Engineering:Civil Engineering:EducationEducation

• Civil engineers must have at least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field, such as structural engineering

• A master’s or PhD degree is suggested to help your chances in finding a job

• Must have a PE (Professional Engineering) Certificate

Electrical Engineer:Electrical Engineer:Core TasksCore Tasks

• Use computer programs to design products, components, or electrical systems

• Supervise manufacturing process of their products

• Test systems and equipment to make sure they perform as required

Electrical Engineer:Electrical Engineer:EarningsEarnings

• Electrical engineers make $53,000 to $126,000 a year

• Earning depend on two things: Experience and education

Computer EngineerComputer Engineer

• Three types:1. Hardware Computer Engineer- deals with the

things about a computer you can touch Ex: Keyboard, monitor, ect.

2. Software Computer Engineer- deals with the things in a computer that cant be touched.Ex: programs

3. Systems Software Engineers- deals with making systems to run computers. These people basically make the computers.

Computer Engineer:Computer Engineer:Core TasksCore Tasks

• Hardware engineers create the pieces of electronic equipment that make up computer systems

• Software engineers make the programs that complete tasks

• Systems software engineers make the operating systems that run computers, such as Windows
