It is to be worked and handed in: 60% of the assigned homework must be worked in order to pass the course. Homework is due the day on which it is assigned but is to be handed in, at the start of class, and in class on the 1 st day of the next week. Please do not put it in my mailbox nor in rack outside my door. Grading of homework is a “big & important task”, so homework must be neat, using only one side of paper, solutions underlined, set # provided, a heavy line dividing problems if more than one per page. LATE HOMEWORK CANNOT BE ACCEPTED (the score of the lowest HW set will be dropped, so missing 1 set should not effect one’s grade). While much of this course, its problems, and projects involve new concepts, principles and derivations it will review and build on material from 1300 and 3300 so having a text on this material would be very helpful. While you are encouraged to work with others on the homework, each student is to hand-in her/his “independent” homework (photo/exact copies not acceptable). “CP” BY A PROBLEM MEANS YOU MUST USE A COMPUTER ON ON THE PROBLEM , WHICH MIGHT BE HELPFUL ON OTHER PROBLEMS AS WELL. Since it is difficult to assign computer problems on exams, problems marked “cp” must be worked with the aid of a computer and handed in to pass the course.

Note 2: Three or Four, “Mini-Design Projects” (requiring ~ 3 to 6 hrs each) will be a required in this course. They must be completed (in teams composed of 2 or 3 students) with one memo type report per team prepared and handed in, in order to pass the course. 6300 students will have additional work, on at least one of these projects.

A significant portion of the course will be taken from the instructor’s experience or other sources provided as handouts (HO), Please obtain a 3-ring binder to hold the handouts, graded HW, exams, etc.
