With a strong brand value supporting the company, GM’s new venture GM PVC Pipes comprises the same principles of good
design and functionality. The fittings are manufactured from special formulations of Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride (UPVC)
to meet the most rigorous International standards. GM PVC Pipes are produced in accordance with industry specifications
and are free from any defects in workmanship and materials.

PVC PIPES AND FITTINGS
QUALITY ASSURANCEThe pipes are tested as per IS:9537 Part:3 for following tests in house:
Visual InspectionInspected for any visual defects like scratch, damage, surface finish, colour and shine.
Marking Inspection and Durability TestingThe legibility and durability of marking is tested by rubbing as per standard.
Dimension InspectionInspected for outside diameter, inside diameter, wall thickness and ovality.
Bending Test at Room Temperature and At Low Temperature0The pipes are bent in bending fixture to “U” shape at room temperature and also it is bent at -5 C. There should not be any
collapse or damage at the bent area. Also the minimum size gauge should pass through it.
Compression TestDepending on the grade of pipe the load is applied as per standard and is then checked for percentage of deformity and minimum gauge should pass.
Collapse Test0The pipes are bent to 90 and are fixed in a jig and conditioned, then tested for any collapse or damage using gauges.
Resistance to Heat Test0The pipes are kept in oven at 60 C for 5hrs. with a ball pressure. There should be minimum impression.
Resistance to Burning TestThe pipe is burnt by using Bunsen burner. The fire should not propagate or continue to burn on removal of flame.
Electrical Characteristic Test a) Electrical Strength : The pipe is subjected to high voltage of 2000 Volts.b) Insulation Resistance : The resistance is checked by applying 500 Volts.
Impact TestThe pipes are subjected to impact load depending on their grade as per standard and are checked for any cracks or damages.
Every batch is tested and is certified from the quality assurance department on line and before material is despatched.
0GM circular adaptable boxes are provided with brass inserts with a load suspension capacity of 3 Kgs at 60 C.

RIGID PVC ELECTRICAL CONDUITS, FITTINGS AND ACCESSORIES
GM is a leading manufacturer of world-class electrical goods for more than two decades. GM has set up a PVC Conduit Pipe
and accessories manufacturing unit in Bengaluru with advanced machinery. It has well equipped laboratory to inspect and
test regularly as per IS:9537 Part:3. The PVC Conduit pipes and accessories are manufactured from first grade raw materials
from leading manufacturers. The compounding of raw materials is done in-house to have better control on quality and
consistency.
The Rigid PVC Conduit pipe is a major break through in construction industry. Previously, steel pipes were used with steel
fittings, which would rust and damaged wires would conduct electricity and cause fire hazards. PVC is fire retardant and the
FRLS grade will produce low smoke in case of fire. PVC does not propagate fire and also is a major insulator of electricity.
The Rigid PVC Conduit Pipes manufactured as per INDIAN STANDARDS are in three categories LIGHT, MEDIUM and HEAVY
with three-meter standard length. The detailed size and thickness is as per table below.
