A LETTER FROM OUR DEAN

“We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of these ECIT graduates. Who doesn’t want a Rockhurst grad? And a Rockhurst grad who also happens to be trained by UMKC? That’s exactly what we want.”

Timothy L. McDonald, Ph.D.Dean, College of Arts and Sciences

ENGINEERING, COMPUTING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY A PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMThe ECIT program is a partnership program between Rockhurst University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. This four-year degree program includes classes at both university campuses. Students take their math, physics and core liberal arts curriculum at Rockhurst, and specialized courses just a short walking distance away at UMKC.

This rare public-private partnership is a program unlike any other. It provides an opportunity for students interested in engineering and IT to receive the world-class, Jesuit education Rockhurst University is known for.

The ECIT program is composed of five Bachelor of Science degrees:

Civil engineering

Electrical engineering

Mechanical engineering

Computer science

Information technology

Graduates with these degrees are in high demand. This need, coupled with the foundation of a Rockhurst education, puts you in the driver’s seat when choosing where you want to work.
