Tubular heating elements perform exceptional heat transfer by conduction, convection or radiation to heat liquids, air, gases and surfaces. In most heater assemblies, tubular element design configurations vary — round, triangular, flat press and formed. Bends are made to customer requirements Custom built from 0.200" to 0.475" diameters, a multitude of sheath materials with sheath temperature capabilities up to 1600&amp, amp, deg, F, watt densities to fit many applications and up to 600 volts. Available with over 20 optional terminations and many stocked accessories.

Tubular Heaters

Inherent mechanical flexibility permits forming and bending into many shapes and sizes providing unique adaptability for the process engineer or product designer. Various sheath material selections are available to provide suitable operation from liquid immersion service through high temperature (1600 °F) radiant heating service.

Threaded fittings can be supplied mounted on the terminal ends of tubular elements. A gasket washer permits liquid tight installation in tank walls for immersion heating of water, oil, and other liquids. Watertight gasket and lock nut are included.

For maximum life, tubular elements should be operated within the limits listed in the chart, and lower watt density if higher temp. Watt density should be a function of the application. We can also manufacture any size in between fractional lengths.

Tubular Heaters use Magnesium Oxide (Mgo) as an insulator between the heating coil and the sheath. Mgo is hygroscopic and will absorb and retain water molecules from its surroundings. This is an undesired characteristic as any humidity inside the heater will corrode the resistance wire, degrade the resistance of the heater, and even allow an arc between the sheath and the resistance wire.To prevent moisture from affecting the performance of the heater, a variety of end seals are available.

Marathon offers the broadest selection of stocked

Immersion Heaters in the industry. Industrial immersion

heaters are designed for direct contact heating of water,

oils, viscous materials, solvents, process solutions and

gases for many industrial heat applications. Since all

heat is generated within the liquid or process,

virtually 100% energy efficiency is achieved.

These heaters are available in wide selection of rates, sizes and

sheath materials suitable for the heating requirements of water, air

and others gases. Flanged immersion heaters are very efficient since

all energy that is generated is dissipated directly into the medium

which is being heated.

Screw plug immersion heaters consist of tubular

elements in a threaded hex plug. Some models are provided

with a thermowell for the temperature control sensor and

variety of electrical enclosures for electrical connections. They screw

directly through threaded opening in tank walls to heat liquids, viscous fluids, forced air, and

gases by direct contact.

CIRCULATION HEATERS

Marathon circulation heaters are packaged units consisting of a screw plug or flanged immersion heater mounted in a thermally insulated heating chamber for efficient heating of a flowing medium by in-line or side-arm operation. Thermocouple sensors can be provided to connect to most any

controllers select from many terminals enclose wise, sheath & vessel material, flanged

connections & controls. Application include: Water Heating, Freeze

Protection, heat Transfer Oil heating, Fuel Oil Heating, Stea, air, and Gas heating

and others.

Applications

Marathon Tank Heating system are uniquely designed to

heat large storage tanks located above or below ground

and containing highly viscous fluids or heat sensitive

materials. We offeres uniquely designed electric heating

systems for large storage tanks. The systems can be

installed in above or below ground tanks made of steel,

concrete, or fiberglass.

Process air heaters, are employed in heating air or other gases

in ducts, autoclaves, or ovens for many industrial heat

applications. sheathed tubular, finned tubular, and finned strip

elements consistently outperform gas, oil, and open coil

electric unit in both heating efficiency and safety.

A) DUCT HEATERS

Marathon designed process air duct heaters specially for the

power generation industry. For instance, our designer optimize

the heating of air fed into combustion and prevent

condensation. Durable INCOLOY sheath elements provide for

outlet temperatures of up to 1200°F/650°C.

Due to moisture content and low temperature inside

hoppers, choking & accumulation of fly ash occurs to

maintain temperature inside hoppers for effective flow of

fly ash to ash disposal system. to remove these kind of

problems, we have to use ESP hoppers heaters, so that they

heat up the hopper and hopper get clean which got blocked

by dust & ash.

Hopper heaters for efficient removal of ash on electrostatic

precipitator normally called ESP Hopper Heaters. Due to

Flue gas condensation ,Fly ash hoppers experience

'pluggage' problems. Marathon supplies electric surface

heating system for fly ash hoppers on electrostatic

precipitator in all type of industries who face the problem

of blockage in Hoppers. The blockage is so severe that

often pneumatic drilling equipment and explosives are

required to free the system. This problem, known as Flash

Freezing, is extremely inconvenient and very costly.

Finned tubular heating elements from Marathon are the most

applications. Finned tubular elements from Marathon are factory-
