Engage for Success
2 June 2015
Engage for Success 12:30 – 14:00
It is often the way products and services are delivered to consumers that is the difference that makes the
difference. This is commonly driven by the people who are the face of the organisation and those in critical
design and delivery roles. The way organisations engage with their employees can motivate them to set their
organisation apart from the competition by how they do their jobs. Why then, is employee engagement not a
top priority for top leaders? We will be examining the business case for employee engagement, why it matters
so much to people at work, the organisations they work for and the economy as a whole. We will look at what
gets in the way and why good engagement is the exception rather than the rule. There is an enormous
opportunity to drive the success of UK organisations and at the same time, enrich people’s working lives. Join
us for an engaging session on employee engagement.

Wendy Leedham has worked for Lloyds Banking Group for over 31
years. She started her career in branch banking as a cashier and
has worked her way up to senior leadership level through the full
complement of branch roles as well as other roles in international
banking, marketing, PR and Treasury. She has sat on Lloyds Group
Boards as an Executive Director in more recent roles.
She has returned to Lloyds from an external secondment as
the Programme Director for Engage for Success, a Government
backed taskforce promoting the benefits of employee engagement
which encourages and supports organisations to take action to create more
engaging workplaces, improve the wellbeing of UK workers, and improve the
performance of their organisations and ultimately drive growth across the
UK.
Wendy was responsible for delivering the strategy, managing the resources
and it’s relationships with key supporters
and promoting the business case for employee engagement. She stays
involved with the movement and is
omitted to supporting its vision.
During her time in the role, she has acquired an in depth knowledge of how
to engage people at work, the
importance of great leadership and line management and why employee
engagement is so important to our country,
people at work and the success of organisations from every sector.
