• CHOOSING A BED

Choosing a bed is easy

Try all of the Hästens models in the various levels of firmness and

you will find the best bed for you. The different models exist in

order to provide for every individual’s needs and wishes. We offer

the best beds in a complete range of price points and features to

ensure the best sleep. You should relax on the beds and let your

body choose which bed is right for you.

size does maTTer

The best bed is the one you feel more rested in after sleeping. In

this context, the size of the bed may be more important than you

imagine. The bed needs to be large enough to allow you to stretch

out and turn over freely.

soFT, medium, Firm or exTra Firm?

If you feel that a bed you are trying is too soft or too firm then it is

definitely the wrong bed for you. How does it feel? If you feel like

you are sinking into the bed, it is too soft. If you don’t sink in at all

and just lie on top, then the bed is too firm. The right bed is one you

lie in, not one you lie on top of or sink right in to. The right bed is

comfortable and gives you the support you need to get proper rest.

This is the bed in which you’ll wake up refreshed and rejuvenated.

To Choose The righT bed, please

Follow These Four simple sTeps:

1. Always start by consulting a qualified

sales person in the store. They are

educated to help you find the right bed by

asking you questions and looking at your

sleeping position.

2. Take your time. You will need at least

30 minutes to try the different beds.

Lie down in your normal sleeping

position and just relax.

3. Always compare two different firmnesses

of the same bed model before making

your final choice.

4. If you are still unsure, choose the slightly

firmer bed.

Choosing a bed requires a trip to the showroom where you can test all the Hästens models. We usually say that the right bed is the one that you don’t notice when you lay in it. You should not even be aware of the bed. You should only notice how comfortable you are.

Hästens continental beds are designed for the ultimate sleep experience, massive and elegant, providing amazing comfort, pliability and support. What you get is amazing. Think about how great you feel when you finally get a good night’s sleep. You look better, feel great, and want to tell everyone.

Compared to Hästens frame beds, our continental beds are filled with more natural materials, separated in three parts (the frame beds have two parts). Two, or three, unique spring systems working in conjunction provide support from deep beneath. The natural materials breathe, creating a perfect sleeping climate at the right temperature, making you fall asleep faster and sleep deeply.

Layer upon layer of horsehair, cotton and wool are placed by hand and distributed evenly, a craft requiring skills and experience. Due to the design and amazing amount of natural materials, the continental beds provide a different inertia, a sturdier support with a different surface softness compared to our frame beds, that have a more immediate feeling of support from the spring systems. The mattress is reversible, giving your bed extended life span and ability to maintain great comfort. Side stitching and piping details on some of our models, make the mattress even more stable. A beautiful embroidery stating model details, is a testament to the passion and pride going into every bed.

Hästens Luxuria is our lowest profile continental bed with firmer character and rounded details. Our intermediate continental bed Hästens Auroria is perceived a little softer, it will almost rock you to sleep. Hästens Proferia is sturdy with extreme pliability and surface softness, you feel almost weightless thanks to a unique layering technique and three spring systems. Exclusive Hästens 2000T has even more natural materials and higher spring systems, making it amazingly comfortable and supportive with a slightly firmer character that suits anyone who desires ultimate sleeping comfort.

We gathered the most valuable insights from our 160 years of

expertise in handmade bed making. We sought out the world's

human body. We searched the planet for the very finest natural

materials. Then we put it all in the hands of our most skillful and

experienced craftsmen. Everything is done exclusively by hand

using nothing but nature's own materials. From this comprehensive

We take the utmost care in creating Vividus. Each bed is made to

order according to your specifications and takes between 140 and

160 manhours to make. The way Hästens Vividus is made is a craft

exquisite in every detail, accomplished with such passion by the

human hand, as to render it an art in itself. Years and generations

of knowledge and expertise brought together in a bed giving you

the ultimate recovery of body and soul. It is our true belief that this

From a design point of view, a frame bed might not seem complex, this is

simplistic Swedish design – but if you look inside you will be surprised

about the amazing amount of natural materials. And you will be even

more surprised when you lie down, relax and experience true deep sleep.

It’s a feeling of being embraced with supportive softness, your body feels

almost weightless. Unique and quiet spring systems in conjunction with

the natural materials provide greater surface softness and an amazing in-

depth support.

Hästens frame beds have an ingenious design, consisting of a thick spring

bed and a top mattress for extra surface softness. The foundation is made

from Swedish pine, from slow growing northern forests, known for its

remarkable strength and endurance. Two unique spring systems together

with natural materials ensures a bed with great comfort, flexibility

and relief while it breathes and provides perfect sleeping climate. All

in a compact form, a unique minimalistic design providing an amazing

versatility. You can choose to use your frame bed freestanding or easily

placed in a bedstead. And since your Hästens bed is custom made, you can

choose your bed in whichever size you prefer. You also have a choice of

colors, legs, headboard and firmness for true personalization.

A Hästens frame bed is filled with natural materials, carefully compiled

to provide perfect comfort and climate for excellent sleep. It is amazing

Hästens VIP fitting

The Hästens ViP fitting is an ingenious little gadget that you can use if you want to join two single beds to prevent them from sliding apart. The fitting is easy to attach and remove without tools. ViP fitting for continental/frame beds: The fitting holds together two single beds making them into a full-size double bed. if one of the beds is lifted (for example, for cleaning) the fitting automatically releases. Info Hästens children’s cotton or genuine horsehair mattresses are wonderful to rest on. They absorb your child’s body heat and moisture and allow natural ventilation. Horsehair mattresses are naturally springy with excellent elasticity. The horsehair wicks moisture away, preventing condensation. The mattresses can be used separately or in combination with a thick mattress underneath. Four corner bands hold the Hästens children’s mattress cover in place. The children’s mattress cover is machine washable at 60°C.
