Food!

Rub your hands together really hard What do you feel?

Heat!

Heat is another form of energy When you rub your hands

together, some of your energy changes form and becomes heat energy

Energy stored in a battery produces electricity that can make toys move

•Electrical energy from the battery powers an electrical motor that operates gears and other parts that make the toy move•Electrical enery changes form in the toy to mechanical energy

Energy moves from one place to another It usually changes form along the way People can make energy more useful by directing it to

different places or by making devices that change its form

When you sharpen your pencil, the energy from the muscles in your arm makes the crank turn
