The sector of electricity generation and distribution is undergoing a total revolution to face three main problems: • end of fossil resources • environmental impact • integration of new technologies These three factors will create a new scenario for energy employ- ment, and they will give final consumers a new role in the entire energy market The first step of my project is to create feasible technical and economic scenarios for the future energy market. • observationtwo tools are provided to partici-pants to track what they do with electricity in their house the first is a weekly calendar, in which you can write what appli-ances you used at what timethe second is WATTSON, a personal energy monitor easy to install and use
• interviewafter the observation, participants will be contacted for an interview to analyze the results and under-stand the reasons of their behavior
• scenarios experiencefinal step is to discuss together the real user’s scenarios, their possi-bilities, limits and challenges

Innovation will be complexTransition will be gradual
Our actual use of electricitywill change. We will have to be more aware, conscious and active in our choice. Time for energy waste in going to end.
But still users have needs that must be satisfied. The target of this research is:• understand how users employ electricity today • which are the reasons behind their choices
This information will integrate the future feasible scenarios with real user’s experience.
