March has been a fun month for the students and families at our EE schools. During the school days, students celebrated March is Reading Month with various themed dress up days, mystery guest readers and more. We brought lots of rhyming fun to families for our Dr. Seuss family night. Some of the great Dr. Seuss classics such as Green Eggs and Ham, Hop on Pop, The Cat in the Hat, Ten Apples Up on Top, and One Fish, Two Fish Red Fish, Blue Fish are the books that helped inspire our activities for the evening. For the Cat in the Hat, a red cup stacking activity, students tested their balancing skills while they read off rhyming words one at a time. It’s no surprise that balloons were used for Hop on Pop for students to hold between their knees while hopping and reading from one rhyming word to the other. Literacy Tip of the Month

Have Fun with Reading Over Spring Break

Spring Break is right around the corner.

Whether you’re traveling to go on vacation or not, don’t forget to read! If

traveling out of state, use travel time in

cars and airports to make sure your kids are reading books. If you’re staying

local, check out the library or other local places like children’s museums and read

about fun, kid-friendly information. If the weather is nice, take some time to

read outside and finish it up with a fun treat like ice cream.
