I have some very exciting news. Our Music Search Committee will be bringing a prospective Minister of Music to Eastmont on June 13 and 14. After eighteen months of prayer, hard work, more prayer, deep discussion and Gods provisions, the committee believes God has led us to the right person.

On June 13 and 14 you will have several opportunities to meet, talk, listen, and worship with him. We are hoping the choir can rehearse on Saturday night, June 13 in preparation for Sunday morning.

As a courtesy to him we are not releasing his name at this time. He is about 45 years old, married with two small children. He is a gifted musician, (piano, saxophone, guitar) and enjoys a worship which includes modern and traditional styles. He is a people person with a strong passion for ministry to people.

We intend to give you his name and other credentials the week before he visits with us at Eastmont. This is a significant decision for his life and for our church so please pray for Gods will to be clear.

Memorial Day is the last Monday in May. We will celebrate it on Sunday, May 24th in two ways. First we remember those who have died while serving our country. We will take a few moments to remember those of our church family who have gone to heaven since last Memorial Day. Military persons may wish to wear their uniforms or honor those with some other manner. It will be May 24 in both morning services.

Scott Miller is one of 260,000 young people who walk away from Christianity every year. About two out of three abandon the faith each year. Some return, more do not. Young people are not the only ones. Singles and elderly are also in decline. Why? Churches at large are failing to train and nurture disciples. Either people will not take time to invest in small groups, or the church programs are not effective. Our mission is making disciples. People mentoring people is the best way to do that. Who are you encouraging in the faith?
