    oogle ransliteration I0* is an input !ethod editor which allows users to enter text in one othe supported languages using a ro!an keyboard. +sers can type a word the way it sounds using

    &atin characters and oogle ransliteration I0* will con#ert the word to its nati#e script. Note

    that this is not the sa!e as translation 11 it is the sound o the words that is con#erted ro! onealphabet to the other, not their !eaning. Con#erted content will always be in +nicode. 2or

    exa!ple, typing 3ha!esha3 transliterates into 4indi as5 and typing 3salaa!3 transliterates

    into %ersian as5

    oogle ransliteration I0* is a#ailable or 66 dierent languages 1Amharic, Arabic, Bengali,Farsi (Persian), Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, e!ali, "riya,

    Installation

    "nstall

    o install, download(I you are on a 781bit 9indows, !ake sure you ha#e selected the 781bit

    radio button in the download page) and run the installer and ollow the instructions on screen.

    More than one language IME can be installed on the same client machine.

    Requirements are Windows 7/Vista/XP 32-bit/64-bitoperating systems.

    Only one instance of IME will be installed per machine but the configurationis done foreach user using IME.

    Uninstall

    To uninstall, follow these steps:

    Con,i&ration

    I you want to use I0* with any application like notepad, you !ust irst open the application andthen open our I0*. I0* can be opened by clicking on the language bar on the desktop and then

    selecting the I0* language icon or through a shortcut key i it:s already conigured. o close

    I0*, you can change the language in language bar or try right clicking on the current application

    to see whether it supports :Close I0*: popup !enu option or by closing the current application.

    Displa*ing Language -ar

    Status Window

    9hene#er you enable our I0* or an application either through a shortcut or through languagebar, its status window will be #isible on the screen. ;y deault it will be placed at the botto!

    right corner o your desktop which can also be !o#ed around. It is used or !ore coniguration

    and controlling #arious eatures o our I0*. It has three to i#e icons (depending on the languageand eatures a#ailable) with let!ost being the application icon. Next to it are I0* language

    indicator button, keyboard button (not present or !haric and igrinya), canonical !ode button

    (his button will be present i you ha#e any canonical sche!esassociated with the I0*) and

    !enu button in that order.

    Edit Window

    9hen the I0* is enabled or an application like notepad and you start typing, I0* displays theedit window with the typed text and the corresponding word choices in I0* language. In the

    below exa!ple, user has typed ggland the I0* has displayed i#e choices nu!bered < to =.

    the selection to the right" or through UP/(RROWor S0"1T2T(-keys 1 which !o#es the

    selection to let. o select one o the choices as the new word or your application, use E.TERkey which inserts the acti#e choice to the application at its current cursor position. +sing

    SP(CEor any other PU.CTU(T"O. C0(R(CTERalso inserts the acti#e choice to the

    application along with the typed punctuation character. *xception will be when I0* thinks thatthere is a better choice o word containing the punctuation character as part o the word itsel. ll

    the abo#e controls only insert the acti#e choice (highlighted) into the application. nother way to

    insert any choice e#en i it is not acti#e is using its position nu!ber as5

    CTRL23c$oice4number5.

    Word Completions

    9hen you type a word, the choices displayed in edit window will be either in -L(C)or -LUEcolor. Intuiti#e partial word choices or the typed content are displayed in ;&C color whichwill always be grouped on the let side. I there are any better dictionary1based word

    completionsor the typed content, they are displayed in ;&+* color and grouped on the right

    side.

    Paging

    In the exa!ple being discussed, I0* displays only = choices in the edit window which is the

    page si>e setting o the edit window. It can be conigured through the !enu button o the statuswindow. I there are !ore choices than the page si>e set, then it will be displayed in the next

    page. %age na#igation can be done through the s!all arrow buttons at the right botto! corner o

    the edit window or through PageUPand PageDownkeys. *#en when you na#igate the choices

    with arrow or tab keys, the control !o#es to the next or pre#ious page ro! either end o the editwindow.

    Searc$

    t anyti!e while typing in edit window, i you click the Gglei!age on top right corner o the

    edit window, it triggers a web search or the acti#e/highlighted choice in google.co!. -earch can

    also be triggered or non1acti#e choice by right1clicking on any choice and then clicking the

    Searc$666drop1down button.

    shortcut keys5 CTRL2)or ESC. here is also option to enter Aero 9idth Boiner (A9B) and

    Aero 9idth Non Boiner (A9NB) characters.
