CSince the very beginning the Lord has revealed four cornerstones to keep us true to our calling and focused on our vision, and these become an integral part of all FCE’s work and activities.
PRAYER CURRICULUMMISSIONS TRAINING
KThe FCE emblem was given by the Lord, through a dream, to one of our staff members, Dalene Treptow. Through this revelation the Lord confirmed the vision and strategy for FCE. We consider it a precious reminder to keep us en route.
God’s inspired and infallible Word is the only foundation for all activities.
His Cross, encompassing the world, reminds us to live a Christ-centred life.
The nations in the 10/40 window under the crossbar of the cross, represent our main calling, to the unreached people groups of the world.
Discipleship, where the mature believer reaches, teaches and points the student to Eternity, is foundational to all our activities. Our lifestyle and perspective should be “out of this world.”

The Lord has built up and established an international mission or-ganisation, out of nothing: The Foundation for Cross-cultural Edu-cation. Through this magazine and in this year of celebration we remember: FAITH that anchored us, HOPE that drove us and LOVE that compelled us, so that He can bring in a great harvest through FCE. We rejoice over staff members who have put their hand to the plough without looking back, and who are still building God’s Kingdom. We share about students whose minds are renewed, so that they can know God’s will. We rejoice over missionaries who are trained to lead those who live in darkness to the Light. We celebrate with the angels over the souls who came into God’s Kingdom. We cry with thankfulness for the many previously aimless, wandering chil-dren who now can read their Bibles. We laugh with fathers who can provide food for their families and mothers who are empowered to clothe and care for their children. We thank all the FCE prayer supporters who have been our right hand throughout the years and who share this harvest. And we honour Him who called us, equipped us and entrusted His vision to us. To God be the Glory!!!

Some years ago Neels de Jager had to drive all the way from Central Africa to South Africa to attend his fa-ther’s funeral. His dad had passed away unexpectedly. The journey was endless and very tiring. On that trip, while he was hurting, tired and longing for a clean toilet
and a hot shower, the idea was born to start guesthouses, all the way through Africa, from the South to the North, as resting places for weary travellers. It is now ten years later and the King’s High-way Guesthouses and Rest Camps have been oases for many travel-weary tourists and missionaries. They have also proven ideal facilities for weddings and conferences. In-service training is provided for students who are interested in hospitality and tourism. The income from these guesthouses is also used to help carry the running costs of the training centres or to help finance FCE projects.
