She easily defeated a fine field of outstanding runners, as she did at the Jenner Classic. The Berkeley girls showed why they are such a strong team by completely domin- ating the 400 meter relay in 46.64, a new record by over a second. They also set a new record In the mile relay at 3:53.29. Debbie Corley '(Garces, Bakersfield)' won the 4 kilo' shot put at 43-8, which surpassed the old record of 41-21/4 by Rita Banks (Delano) last year. He set a new record In the 110 meter high hurdles with 13.95. He also ran on two winning relay teams. Berkeley won the team tltie' with 48V2 points. Hiram Johnson of Sacramento was second with 26 and Oakland was third with 17. Berkeley started off with a third In the distance medley, and followed with a first in the 400 relay, second in the triple jump, first in the two-mile relay, thlrd.ln the high jump, and finished with a victory in the mile relay. Gerald White, a Junior from McCly- monds of Oakland, won the 100 meters In 10.94. Kenny Robinson of Berkeley did not run, because the Berkeley bus did not arrive In tIme. Apparently the team took too long at a rest and refueling stop In Los Banos. But Robinson will get another chance next year to win the outstanding athlete award. Mike Vall (Mira Loma, Sacramento) won a competitive two-mile In 9:12.73. The first seven runners all went under 9:25 ..
