Bodwell’s Global Leadership Training Program is designed for global-minded
and motivated young adults from around the world. Participants obtain
a variety of training and lead groups of youth from Bodwell’s University
Summer Programs in their exploration of the geographical, historical, social,
and cultural aspects of Canada. The summer programs are for international
youth ages 10 – 17 that join to improve their English skills and learn about
Canada. Our summer program has now celebrated more than 20 years of
offering unique Canadian educational experiences.
The Global Leadership Training Program takes place in Vancouver
(University of British Columbia) with the opportunity to travel to Victoria and
Whistler. Themes covered in both training and practices are multicultural
understanding, global communication, awareness of environmental issues,
and leadership development.
Global Leaders are responsible for a group of 8 – 14 youth, depending on
the ages and cultural mixes. Tasks include planning, leading and joining in a
variety of activities throughout the evening and weekends. They act as a role
model for the students and a cultural ambassador for their own country. They
provide our students with support, guidance, and supervision. All leaders
are a part of a team that aims to provide a fun, educational, and memorable
summer experience for all Bodwell students.
Upon arrival to the program, three days of training and orientation workshops
will be provided before Global Leaders are matched with their group of
students. These workshops, hosted by guest speakers, will help educate the
Global Leaders on Vancouver, Canadian culture, safety, communication and
group leadership. It will also give them the opportunity to get to know the
other leaders and understand the summer program structure and guidelines.
The Global Leadership Training Program is a voluntary program. Bodwell will cover the
following costs for participants of the program:
• University Accommodation (from program arrival date to program departure date)
• Meals (3 per day plus an evening snack)
• Medical Insurance (for the program duration)
• Transportation (airport transfers both ways, to all outings)
• Training & Orientation Workshops
• Activities, Outings and Weekly Events
• Two-day Farewell Trip
• Reference Letter, Official Certificate of Completion & Canadian Souvenirs
Participants of the Global Leadership Training Program will be required to pay and arrange
for their own air travel to and from Vancouver.

Testimonials from Global Leaders
What better recommendation can I say about this program?
Bodwell Global Leadership Training Program is absolutely
a top notch experience! Living in one of the most beautiful
cities in the entire world, working with people from China to
Mexico, from Switzerland to Ghana, with professionalism and
kindness, and also enjoying many different and interesting
activities! I absolutely encourage anyone to live this incredible
experience! This program gave me the opportunity to grow
as a person, visit an incredible city and make friendships and
experiences that I will remember forever!
- Juan Manuel Ruiz Acosta, Mexico
I will forever be grateful to Bodwell for this opportunity to experience an unforgettable summer while I participated in Bodwell’s Global Leadership Training Program. Through this program, I met people
from different parts of the world and learnt a lot about cultural diversity. Even in the multicultural setting, I felt there was a sense of respect and oneness. I improved my leadership skills while dealing with
teenagers from different cultural settings with great support from the Bodwell staff and the workshops held. I had the chance to explore the beautiful city of Vancouver, to do a lot of things I had never done
before in my life and build friendships across the world. This Bodwell experience will remain with me for a long time and I will definitely recommend it to anyone, anytime.
- Marian Kyeremeh, Ghana
I enjoyed every single day I spent in Vancouver. Although
during the program we met some unexpected, hard situations
we had to solve, we could share our problems and find the
solution as a team. We supported and helped each other. I was
impressed by how patient and kind all of the leaders and other
staff were. Together we explored the city and each other’s
cultures. The main things I took home from the program are
that I learnt a lot about myself in this new environment and I
found real friends from other continents. So incredible!
- Noemi Szabo, Hungary
You become one huge Bodwell family with common gladness and griefs! It is so great to understand that in such a short period of time people of different age, of totally different cultural background become
so close to each other! Bodwell’s Global Leadership Training Program is a unique chance to change your worldview, to extend your horizons and to become a better person with global perspectives and a
tolerant attitude towards other people, cultures, world understanding!
- Maria Volkova, Russia

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to take part in Bodwell’s
Global Leadership Training Program. Not only did I get to
develop my leadership skills in an international setting
through working with a great team of staff and students from
a variety of cultural backgrounds, but also explore the City
of Vancouver and admire the beauty of nature. I have made
friends and shared memories with people that I will remember
for a life time. The experience in Bodwell was both exciting
and challenging. I was encouraged to go beyond my limitations
and grow into a stronger person. Thank you, Bodwell, for
making this summer a truly memorable and life-changing one!
