I Mana ka Lāhui: To Empower the Lāhui
I Mana ka Lāhui connects kānaka to Hawaiian cultural and political experiences through face-to-face and hands-on workshops. The sessions empower communities with cultural practices, legal and political know-how, and opportunities for relationship building.

OHAs ADVOCACY: GWU Internship Program

• OHA DC Bureau is spearheading partnership discussions with the George Washington University
• OHA’s goal is to create an OHA-GWU internship program for Native Hawaiians
• Interns would be placed in key Executive Branch and Congressional offices, as well as OHA DC
• Program would serve OHA’s educational and economic goals, while preparing future generations of leaders

• OHA’s 2010 criminal justice report• In 2011, Act 170 established task force to recommend
cost-effective policies to eliminate disproportionate representation of Native Hawaiians
• Legislative report due in December• Reviewed public input from six statewide summits • Currently developing findings and recommendations,
considering legislative proposals
